Toddler has started hating swings - anyone else?!

DS is 20 months old and for some reason over the last few months, has started to get upset at things that he used to love. For example, going on swings, song time at the library.

With swings, he wants to go on them but once he’s in it he gets upset and wants to come out. For song time, he starts to cry at the start, but is easily settled and then enjoys it!

Anyone else experienced this? What’s going on?!

My DSs are both now past playground age, but they both hated swings too. OK when they were tiny in baby swings but by toddler age they definitely didn’t like them. Some kids like the sensation of being in a swing, some don’t. In the same way some adults like rollercoasters and amusement park rides and some (me included) hate them. Let him play on the climbing equipment/ in the sandpit / pretend shop / hide and seek, etc, instead.

Thanks, I’ve just never heard of it before, or seen it! Every other child seems to love the swings.

But that’s because only parents whose kids like swings are putting them in the swings!
