What happens after a stray cat is collected for veterinary care?

I have a cat that came to visit me as a stray many years ago. He is injured. I don't have transport. I contacted an animal charity and he will be picked up tomorrow and brought to a vet.

What happens after this? Will be informed of his prognosis? I grew to love him. I just am unable to drive him for medical help. I will offer to make a cash donation. What would be suitable.

The cats injury is a wound to his head. I don't know if he surgery, iv, or go to sleep. What would be suitable?

It depends on how serious the injury is and whether charities have space.

You could offer to foster him/her if you wanted.

Should I prepare a cloth item for the cat for pick up and transport to a vets. Like a t-shirt olthat I own.

The cat came to know me and he was just so cute and funny. He used to sneak into the house and he knew where my bedroom was and he would cry outside of my bedroom door.

You can do, they're comforted by familiar smells - we send all our cats to the vets with a blanket that smells of home.

Also there's another issue, the cat that comes, he likes to visit another neighbour. He comes and goes to our houses. I reckon he came from an old man's house nearby wland they weren't looking after him. So the cat, he's not owned by anyone as such.

I don't know if I such talk to my neighbour and let her know about the cat and the action I took and where he's going.

I asked my mother for advice and what to do and should I inform the neighbour and my mother advised me not to because the cat has been injured for some time now and surely she noticed. She would have to have noticed but she never once came to me or called me. All she has to do is talk to me and arrange some palm with me where we go Half's on his care. But she is keeping well away likely afraid that she might have to spend some money on him.

I must admit I think she could have helped. In that I have an issue with transport but she has a car and she could have offered to help me bring him to a vet and I could cover costs. But she never offered to help.
