Botox only for 11’s?

OrangeMoonsAreCool · Yesterday 09:28

I have 11 creases that are getting worse (I’m 49). But they are (as yet) the only lines that are really bothering me.
I enquired about Botox with one dermatologist but she says I would need Botox in other areas of my face too, for a ‘harmonious’ result. This would be one vial and cost £350.
Does this sound standard? I was really hoping for just the 11’s to be done.

Following as I am also looking for only 11s done. Not enquired yet so can't tell you what professionals said. I have seen prices saying 1 area, 2 areas or 3 areas so I am surprised if you cant get just one area done.

I always have just 11s done. I think forehead Botox is different and other areas are needed to balance the brows but have had no issues with 11s only.

Oh dear I read this as ' Botox for only 11's?' 😳 so relieved it was about the placement 🤣

I’ve had Botox for only 11s but they’ve proven resistant to it in the long term Sad

That’s interesting…do you think that’s because you ONLY had the Botox in that area?

Good to hear! I will investigate other dermatologists. This particular one removed something from my face a few months ago and so I went for her advice - but maybe she is not right about Botox!

I only have Botox for my 11s, she’s lying/upselling.

tragically my v good and relatively cheap Botox doctor has retired so I need to find someone else.

I’ve been having just my 11s done for a few years now without any issues.

In addition, I had suffered for years from what I thought were constant sinus headaches but that disappeared after my first treatment, so I think were actually tension headaches from using the muscles there. I will therefore keep on having Botox there because I can justify the cost and having needles stuck in me for that reason alone.

To add that I use a doctor, who is highly qualified in this area.

No @OrangeMoonsAreCool I think it just happens to some people and I was unlucky

Been getting Botox in my 11’s for years . No other area at all and it works great . No other areas are needed.

OrangeMoonsAreCool · Yesterday 15:40

I’m very glad I asked! Seems like the dermatologist is being a tad untruthful. Many thanks.

Same.

I'm starting to develop these and it's getting me down! I've always been very anti cosmetic injections and am ok (just about!) with my other fine lines and wrinkles but I do mind these as they make it look like I'm frowning.

Idofeelbetter · Yesterday 16:34

Try Frownies, they work with consistent use. The 11’s come back to start with but after a while you automatically stop frowning. It has worked for me. I started over a year ago and I had 11’s getting deeper. Now they are completely gone but I can frown if I want to. Everyone at work is convinced I have Botox. (I’m 47).

MinimumRage · Yesterday 16:45

@Idofeelbetter - do you use them just at night or do you need to use them in the day too to get these results? I have a packet in the bathroom and need to get started.

urghhh47 · Yesterday 16:51

She's expensive. I pay 240 for a vial and you absolutely can have it just for your 11s but will probably want it elsewhere too.

Idofeelbetter · Yesterday 17:39

@MinimumRage I wear them nearly every night. When I forget I still do not wake up with lines. You can wear them in the day as well but I know my kids would laugh at me. It’s more for training your muscles not to frown when asleep which we all do, so now my muscles don’t do it in the day unconsciously.

sanityisamyth · Yesterday 17:41

I thought this meant for 11 year olds 🙈🤣

Interesting - I have tried those before but didn’t think they did anything and gave up. I also didn’t like having to wet them with water as I was worried that would dry out the 11 area which would make the lines worse!

Idofeelbetter · Yesterday 20:08

They definitely don’t dry my skin out. It’s a longer process though whereas Botox has quicker with results.

FateAmenableToChange · Yesterday 20:30

I get Botox on my 11s alone, she puts three injections on each side, around the inner brow & above it. It also lifts my brow a bit & opens up my eyes. I love it and only need it done twice a year. Costs £180 and she’s a registered nurse.

I don't totally agree. When I had my 11s done she was very clear I needed it in a couple of other places otherwise my frown would
just "transfer" to another part of my forehead and I'd end up looking unbalanced. Your muscles want to frown and if only one part of it is frozen you get a strange halo look in part of your face and the rest compensating.
