Are HR/Payroll likely to agree to sending a payslip by email in these circumstances?

My son has just set off on a 3 week holiday, but the day before he set off, he had an offer accepted to buy his first flat. (Fwiw, the timing isn't his fault - he made the offer in February, but was out-bid by another buyer who has now pulled out). He has arranged to do his mortgage appointment by video call next week but has realised they will need his latest payslip. He says he can't log into his work's payroll system from his phone, or access his work email. If he emails HR from his personal email address (which they have a record of) and explains the situation, are they likely to agree to email the payslip to him?

I got my bonus letter via email as I needed it to make a contribution to the pension so it was time critical.

I was signed off with a fracture.

I would ask and explain the situation. My HR would be helpful here as long as the email provided is already on their record as a contact method.
