Travel insurance q

My H has a prolapsed disc and is due to have a steroid injection in his back in a few weeks.

I am currently sorting travel insurance out for our summer holiday and of course have declared his condition. There is an option for either “I have had spinal injections in the last 12m” or “I am waiting for spinal injections”.

is it better to declare he is waiting for them? Or buy the policy after the event when he has “had them in the last 12m”?

not sure if it makes a difference? Or if I have to declare again after he’s had them.

sorry if a silly question!!

If the holiday is booked for this Summer and he's having the injection in the next few weeks I'd think that would qualify for I've had a steroid injection in the last 12 months.

Hope he recovers well, that's a painful condition.
Enjoy your holiday.

If you say he has had it and it causes an issue, you won’t be covered.

If you don't take the policy yet so you can select the "have had the jabs" you run the risk that life happens in the meantime and your holiday is not covered.

I would ring up & ask.

thanks all, does anyone know if I declare now he WILL be having them, do I have to call again to amend AFTER he has had them?

It will depend on the policy wording. Some could have a clause requiring you to declare material changes. It’s best to call and ask if the wording is not clear. You can look at the wording before you buy.

No because you are stating the fact as on the day you take out the insurance. Not what his conditions will be on the day the holiday starts.
