I saw a zimmerframe and a pull along shopping trolley/bag by someone’s bin today. It made me think about what had happened to the person they belonged to.

Ooof that would make me sad.

a small boy - maybe 3.5- feeding the pigeons in the park desperately trying to get some food to an injured pigeon which the other birds tried to take all the food. His mum wasn’t looking and I wanted to yell to her - look at your beautiful, kind little boy!

a woman in the bus carrying a bag with an urn of ashes topped with the label of a local undertaker. She was trying not to cry, white and shaky.

If anyone is crying I just want to give them a big hug and a packet of tissues. Makes me emotional every time

Happy things tug at my heartstrings too. This kid running up to (I’m assuming) his granddad in the park and the sheer joy on both their faces like they were the only people in the world.
I sometimes see threads on parents wishing their parents would be more involved with grandkids, grandparents facing barriers to see their grandkids. It would be great if the hands off grandparents could be matched with the parents putting in blockers to access their kids and those who want to be involved be matched with those desperate for more involvement.
