Can Peri come on quite quickly?

Hello gang.

I'm blue. Looking back on myself 6 months ago I feel like a much crapper version of myself. My main problems are:

  • all my skin itches for no reason
  • I keep forgetting words/losing track of what I'm saying/saying the wrong word
  • intimate area feels dry and itchy but no sign of infection, even during sex it feels dry
  • I feel hot and cross all the time, even my own hair is making me hot

I haven't had a period for about two decades thanks to my birth control but these feel like it must be Peri. I'm 38.

How quickly has it come on for others and what did you notice first? I'm the oldest of my group of friends so don't have anyone to talk to IRL and my DM has passed.

Thanks in advance. Feeling a bit gloomy.

Speak to gp as other things can develop relatively quickly eg thyroid issues.

Other than that it may be early peri. Look at your diet too and see if you can up your healthy fats, nuts, seeds, oily fish etc and reduce rubbish / try to go upf free.

Peri can last 8-10 years in some and given its entirety within the norm for periods to stop age 45, 38 is within the time frame.
