I’m 30 on the 28th July just worried I don’t have an outfit already

I know the world is a bit crazy at the moment, but I think you can expect shops to still be open come the summer.

FettchYeSandbagges · 22/04/2026 17:08

Just wear something nice you already have. Job done.

CapitanSandy · 22/04/2026 17:55

You’ve got plenty of time yet. You could wear your favourite outfit or start looking for something new in a couple of months.

I can’t remember what I wore on my 30th it was the beginning of lockdown so probably lounge wear!

Just realised I can't remember what I wore on any of my birthdays, ever - except my 6th when I had a ravishing nylon party dress with a puffy skirt in Barbie pink

sweetpickle2 · 22/04/2026 18:25

I'm getting married a few days before that and don't have an outfit yet. You have ages.

LoserWinner · 22/04/2026 18:29

I don’t think it’s compulsory to buy new clothes for special occasions. But if you must, I think there’s a fair chance you’ll be able to go shopping at least once between now and the end of July.

Shinyhappyapple · 22/04/2026 18:33

It’s 3 months away. Why on earth should you have planned an outfit for your birthday 3 months ahead. Do you have a party booked? By all means, start looking around if you have an idea of the sort of thing you may want to wear and want to buy something new whilst it’s in stock, but 28th July might be a 35 degree heatwave or 16 degrees and raining.

Seeing as it's to celebrate reaching middle-age:

Why do you think 3 months might not be enough time?

SleepingStandingUp · 22/04/2026 18:57

Do you have plans or just want to look swanky doing the school run and going into other office?

DilemmaDelilah · Yesterday 17:37

Are you doing anything special? If not, then no of course not! If you are having a party or going out somewhere smart, then you could have a check through your wardrobe to see if you have anything suitable. If you don't then you could start looking around.

I have already got the clothes I'm going to need for our cruise in the summer but:
a) I'm autistic and I need to plan ahead and to know that everything is sorted, and
b) I'm very excited! It's our (10 years) delayed honeymoon and my first cruise

LlynTegid · Yesterday 17:41

Please don't fall for all this nonsense of so-called milestone birthdays. Just wear something that you would wear for a night out.

Backawayfromthesausage · Yesterday 17:42

Um you’ve 3 months…

canklesmctacotits · Yesterday 17:44

I don’t even know what I’m going to wear after my shower in a minute! Who on earth plans an outfit 3 months in advance?! Doesn’t it depend on the weather? And how you’re feeling on the day?
