Going out out after a mole removal

hello

I am due to have a mole removed this afternoon. It’s small on the top of my thigh, dissolvable stitches and 3-5 stitches to be used. I have a friends birthday night out this weekend - can’t cancel as childcare arranged and has been in the diary for weeks.

nurse on the phone said avoid dancing and drinking. Would you think it’s ok to still go to a bar and sit down at the table? Or would you cancel entirely.

I had a mole removed just below my collar bone several years ago, they took an area of approx 2/3cm in diameter.

I was totally numb for hours when I got home, sore the next day and for several days after but to otc painkillers.

The site was covered in a dressing that I was told to leave on for 5 days.

I had an event my DC was performing at the next morning followed by a 21st Birthday in the evening.

I went to both but took it very easy, my biggest concern was someone bumping into me as I was sore and worried about the stitches.

I was absolutely fine I didn’t stay long at the party but I was glad I went.

It healed really well and I was surprised when I took the dressing off that the stitches had already dissolved.

Good luck the afternoon, I hope it goes well.

Play it by ear but I am sure you will be fine by the weekend. I have had multiple moles removed (15 or 16 I think) over the years and have always felt fine afterwards. Obviously you need to protect the area but your thigh should be fairly easy.
