Ive started with the oestrogen pump gel. First dose this am. Felt slight nausea about 20 mins after applying it. Anyone else on HRT?

I’ve been on HRT for ages. I didn’t feel any side effects but I am on the combined patches.
I did, after about a week or so have a wonderful feeling of calm which lasted a couple of months before my body got used to it and I’m a little bit more grumpy again. The night sweats stopped really quickly for me.

I'm surprised you feel nauseous... it's usually pretty unnoticible, but are you nervous about it?
I've been on it for about 6 years now...definite game changer. No more hot flushes and I don't want to murder my (lovely) dh any more. I sleep better and just feel normal.
I was on two pumps a day, but a few months ago switched to the little sachets.
HRT doses are fairly flexible and it may take a little while to find out how much works for you, but stick with it :)

That’s interesting what is is given for, like what symptoms did you have. As I discussed briefly with GP and they said to discuss possible trial of HRT. But told by another, they wouldn’t do it unless certain symptoms etc.

But I felt better back when my periods were bad, and horrific PMS. They put me on the mini pill. Really picked up for some time. But since feel things are pushing back through, and feeling not good, very fatigued mood issues, sore nipples, which all indicates to me, something going on hormonally.

It gave me mild headaches for the first couple of days, and did every time I increased the dose.
Has made a big difference to aching joints and night sweats stopped almost straight away. I’d say i feel pretty much back to normal, or as good as possible for late 40’s.
Tip from my meno expert GP - Rub the gel on with the bottle cap - saves wasting any on your hands!

Been on HRT 3 years. Just swapped from patches to Spray as my Oestrogen had dropped to 167 so patch absorption was no longer working.
Stick with it OP, it will take a while for your body to adjust About a week for me.

I’m 47 and I started oestrogen gel (1 pump) about 10 weeks ago and had nausea for a good couple of weeks, lots of things make me nauseous though so if it’s labelled as a side effect I’m going to get it!

I feel ok now though so it does pass, doesn’t seem to be doing too much at the moment but it’s definitely helped the night sweats. The Gp said I’ll probably need to go up to pumps after 12 weeks.
