Metal pergola

Hi, I know this is really a Home & Garden question but posting here for traffic.
We are about to have our garden landscaped and plan to have a metal pergola with adjustable/louvre slat roof installed. We’ve done a bit of window-shopping and the prices seem to vary significantly between companies. We’ve found some produced by Nova, the model is called Proteus (the manual closing option), and they are available from several retailers. There are also a few others we would consider.

Does anyone on here have that particular brand or model and have you been happy with it or not?

Does anyone have any other comments or suggestions relating to metal pergolas?
Thanks

I'm also looking into these at the moment. I looked at retractable canopies to screen the roof of a wooden pergola and was surprised at the cost - eg over £700 just for the canopy for a 6m x 3m pergola. Not got much useful to add but interested to read responses!

We have a Nova Titan pergola, bought from Blakesleys a couple of years ago. It’s brilliant. Ours is large (7m) and covers a big patio. The quality seems good - very solid and durable with a decent finish. The louvres work well. It’s transformed how we can use our garden and I wouldn’t be without it now.

I can’t speak for the Proteus model, but the Titan has been great and worth the money.

I've been looking at these from different suppliers but its driving me mad as i want a 5x3 but most of them seem to skip the 5mtr so its either 4 or skips to 6mtr which is too short or too long.

The very few who do offer the size is so much more expensive 😫

We’ve just bought one from Pergolux.

We bought one three years ago from Maze Living. Seems to be pretty sturdy and has withstood lots of high winds. The only negative is that the lights have stopped working. Overall I would recommend, we decided it was worth paying more to get something really sturdy as lots of them seemed quite flimsy..

Thanks everyone.
@Dockthepeek Glad to hear yours has been a worthwhile investment.
@Oxo01 Ideally we would have a non-standard size too to fit our garden design and space better but they have sold out of the size we’d prefer and no sign of restocking, I’m concerned they might have discontinued it. I’ve messaged a company who say they can do bespoke sizes but I suspect they’ll be much more expensive and we’ve not seen their products or any reviews/testimonials so wouldn’t like to risk spending so much on an unknown product iyswim.

@MrsAlwaysRight I know what you mean. Some of them don’t look as substantial and look weirdly skinny. The flip side to that is some models look too chunky and imposing for our space…

@R00tat00tt00t
Can i ask what company you contacted.
I done the same with a few but they all say they dont do my size.

Its so annoying im not looking for cheap but really dont want to pay £8000 upwards.

I am looking at a wall fitted one but for my size its the fixed poly something roof but I would prefer a flexible one.
