M&S new Sparks

So, what are people's thoughts about the new Sparks logic from M&S.

While I like to earn points/money, they just provide me again with offers I don't need or would use.
I have women's tops, food and women's shoes at the moment.

Sigh, it's a mess again.

All we want is points on purchases. It’s not that hard although they are managing to make it look like it is 🤷🏻‍♀️

Same. I am unlikely to spend £8 on Greek yoghurt in one go so I guess I won’t be earning any rewards!

Exactly, it’s shit.

I preferred the old Sparks.

There was a long thread on this last week, no one was impressed. Sparks has always been shit though.

A lot of the offers are cumulative until you reach the target. We used a clothing one yesterday across 2 transactions and have received the full reward.

I would have much preferred the 20% off on the spot but given we do shop there regularly enough it’s fine.

Didn't see that one.

Yes, you think they would do their market research properly as so many say they just want to accumulate points like most of other loyalty cards do.
They manage this with their credit card, so it's not that they have no idea what to do.

They seem to have reverted to the 'tick multiple boxes to get something' rewards. Things like 'get £5 reward when you buy a dress and a necklace' rather than 'get 20% off jewellery' as I might have done before.

Boots make it simple - earn points with every purchase, earn bonus points if you buy certain things/spend £x.

They will have crunched the numbers and analysed a heap of data before deciding on this scheme. It’s different with the credit card because they want you to use it as much as possible so the interest adds up, making more money for them. Roughly 50% of people who have credit cards don’t pay off the card balance every month. The money they make from the interest will make up for any money ‘lost’ when using your points via the credit card.
