I’m not talking about going on marches, but minor things, that you know about.

Mine is I won’t play Michael Jackson songs, after all the alleged behaviour, which certainly wouldn’t be accepted by today’s standards.

The second is I won’t buy McCain products, after they put out an advert for Smileys, which referred to ‘knocker’s’ in them. I thought that language had died out in the seventies.

I stopped volunteering at Park Run because they allow men to steal women's places and times
I won't watch anything with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint or David Tennant in it
And I'm another one who doesn't give way to oncoming male pedestrians

Frankfurterwuerstchen · 20/04/2026 13:17

I look for opportunities to move books promoting self-id. Sometimes I move them to a completely random shelf and put them on the shelf with the spine facing inwards.
I have on occasion moved them to the "Fairytales" section.

She's not, she is also boycotting the US - it's literally right there in the post you are quoting.

Presumably because of their joint war on Iran which has thrown the world's economy into turmoil and made everyone worse off.

Some might say that both countries are committing war crimes.

What's with not giving way to other people? I don't understand, it works both ways you know.

Fat chance. You need a blue badge for a disabled bay, there are loads of people who have a mobility limitation but don’t qualify, and the P&C bays are filled with all sorts - hotted up hatches, work vans, etc are common around here.

So as I did yesterday I went to the back of the car park so that I could hope to come back and still wrestle my toddler into a rear facing car seat without some self appointed car park boss deciding to park as close as humanly possible to me for shits and giggles.

Do you have an overly large car?

It's always huge cars that seem to try and take up more than one space. Damn right I am going to squeeze my tiny car into what's left of the other space. It's why I chose a tiny car.

Interestingly it doesn't though. When I am in my wheelchair women pretty much always move out of my way but a decent percentage of men will walk straight at me

Oreosareawful · 20/04/2026 13:21

I've also played pavement chicken with men, so satisfying! I like to do it with sunglasses on, so I can appear to not be looking where I'm going (head turned to the side, but eyes watching my step)
Men seem to realise I'm just going to walk into them, so they move over!

I've boycotted Amazon for years. Spending $bn on vanity space projects rather than projects to end poverty, homelessness or abuse?.

Is all scientific research 'vanity', or just space? Should all research budgets be cut and given instead to homeless charities? What about the people working in then who will lose their jobs, and then potentially their own homes, don't they count?

I'm not trying to be goady, just interested in where and how you draw your line?

It seems to be fashionable to slag off Musk and SpaceX but most people who don't approve seem to have no problem with other research.

Op you say about Michael Jackson do you have kids? I was only thinking about this the other as I plan to see his movie soon. If you had kids abused by this famous man why would you take money and stop him going to jail? Because if that was me or my dc I would have wanted him in prison for this but they only wanted his money? Why?

Because lots of people's morals and ethics go out of the window as soon as they see dollar signs. And lots of people do not have their children's best interests and safety as their foremost concern. Surely you know this?

ThejoyofNC · 20/04/2026 07:44

Michael Jackson was innocent.

I teach my boys to be manly.

What does that even mean? You teach them to repress all emotions except anger and to sexually assault girls?

Only really relevant to me, but I refuse to go to a really nice local cafe because the owner was mean to my sister at primary school 🤣
My sister eats there… but I won’t 🤭

Absolutely love this!

I refuse to wish people Happy Birthday on Facebook if they have ever been mean.

Pathetic I know. 😂

And then they leave a snotty note on your windscreen saying that you parked too close and they had to climb in through the tailgate. Tough shit I was between the lines, learn to park.

Unpaidviewer · 20/04/2026 13:25

I have sprinkled wildflower seeds on unused private property near us. I have no clue who the patches of land belong to but they weren't well kept and looked a mess.

Topsytiger · 20/04/2026 13:26

I avoid halal/kosher including the fast food and restaurant chains that use it
I call out shops selling real fur against their own sales policies or real fur labelled as fake. I'm familiar with customer services in most high street chains and department stores in the south east, trading standards and apparently come across like a Daily Mail journalist (which I'm neither keen on or am, but if it works it works)
I have been planting up and seeding all of the abandoned public realm flower beds in my local area at 6am on a regular basis including replanting council planting in better locations.
I heckle the far right on social media for relaxation.

Some might say that both countries are committing war crimes.

All 3 are committing war crimes. But war crimes are meaningless these days, no-one is afraid of the ICC or the Hague - they've been complete defanged. The Geneva conventions are regarded as a quaint historical footnote.

This. I love doing this so much.

BridgetJonesV2 · 20/04/2026 13:27

I avoid our village shop like the plague - their dog nearly killed mine and we had to go to court. Bastards never paid our vet bill of nearly £1k. So if people ask for directions, I send them the wrong way.

  1. wont do botox
  2. wont dye my har
  3. I won’t shop with Tescos when they decide to put the trans flag on as you open the app. Trans flag is pretty much the same as a Misogyny flag and I refuse to shop there whilst they’re doing that.
  4. I don’t buy from Temu

I’d like to stop Amazon. But it’s difficult as my children love Dino Dana!

Oh no! I quite liked Tesco. We mainly shopped in Aldi when we lived in England, but did go to Tesco for necessities like good licorice and to donate to the food bank.

Scorchio84 · 20/04/2026 13:29

Michael Jackson was a paedo, seeing buses passing me in traffic with advertising this bullshit biopic makes my blood boil

I never take part in staffroom pools for anything horse racing related & don't get me started on greyhound racing

My OH & I didn't watch the last World Cup hosted by Qutar

Palm Oil is a nightmare to avoid but I'm really trying

CervixSampler · 20/04/2026 13:32

@Nmss please could you share where you got your earrings? I tie suffragette colour ribbons to shrubs and trees. One set has been there 5 years. I have them on my handbag too along with a harry spotter keyring and take Tunnocks as snacks wherever I go.
I change any form that asks my gender to sex.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 20/04/2026 13:33

Disbelieving abuse allegations isn’t a great look.

Define ‘manly’. Do you mean not having feelings, using violence towards women, expecting a woman’s place to the home?

MrsKateColumbo · 20/04/2026 13:34

Yeah I also stopped listening to Michael Jackson, I was a huge fan before

Reallyneedsaholiday · 20/04/2026 13:36

I won't support the Happy Potter franchise
Try and use independent retailers where possible
Don't use Temu or Shein
Avoid Primark like the plague

Not really but either way I don’t believe he did anything to those kids.

MrsKateColumbo · 20/04/2026 13:36

I also frame jobs and accomplishments from a female being the default, e.g. explaining to my kids about a female tennis player/astronaut and if I mention a male one also I sort of say "because men are allowed to play tennis/go to space too"
