It looks like it was yes. He was the father of 'at least some' of the children.

Those poor children, how can anyone do something so wicked?

To get their own back on the mother.
It's called family annihilation.

Crushed23 · 20/04/2026 00:11

Yes, it’s very tragic how many children die at the hands of their parents.

That is exactly my first thought when I saw the headline. Those poor children.

mjf981 · 20/04/2026 00:27

Agree with poster above - it's to punish the mother.
It looks like he's been shot dead, which isn't punishment enough for such an evil evil act. I just can't wrap my head around it.

A not uncommon event if you read the reports and yet another mass shooting. But it's an apparently acceptable thing so no one is outraged. Gun owners will buy more guns, there will be thoughts and prayers and everyone moves on

What are you on about? The children didn't murder themselves.

It’s the father.

This caught my eye: “American communities tend to view family annihilations as isolated tragedies. But a July 2023 Indianapolis Star investigation found they had been occurring across the US every five days on average.”

It’s very obviously due to the availability of firearms but for some reason they’re not willing to part with them.

The father has murdered his children to get his own back on their mother.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 20/04/2026 21:31

It seems he had confessed to having very dark thoughts and being afraid of what he might do only weeks earlier. How on earth is someone like that allowed to carry lethal weapons. The mind boggles. The thought of all those innocent little souls, I was truly very upset to see this today.

endofthelinefinally · 20/04/2026 22:38

Divorce was in progress.

My jaw literally dropped when I read that. Heartbreaking.
