I’ve got my first tray in as we speak ! One of my front teeth feels a little sensitive so I’m hoping that doesn’t get worse as I go on…
The brand is “boutique”

What can I expect ?

Yes I had the boutique whitening, night time trays. The results were amazing, I was strict with no tea and coffee for 3 weeks.

The sensitivity was awful first couple of days, but either it reduced or I got used to it as the days went on. Ibuprofen helped.

I’m on day 5 of boutique. The first two nights I only kept the trays in for 2 hours and had quite a bit of sensitivity, but it’s been absolutely fine since and doing it overnight

Great to hear good results although a little worried about the sensitivity as my teeth can be prone to it already…
the dentist said to use the fluoride toothpaste in the trays for a night if it gets bad

Also thanks for the sensitive toothpaste suggestions, I do actually have the prescription stuff from the dentist, is that any different to otc stuff you can buy?

Is it duraphat you’ve got? If so yes - it didn’t work for me so I went exploring elsewhere!

Dentist recommended Sensodyne for me but told me it HAS to be Repair and Protect.

AlanisMorningShed · 23/04/2026 17:28

How are you getting on @turkeyteething?

I have been whitening this week and the first day was really bad sensitivity wise, I felt sick, my teeth zinged but were so painful.

So after taking regular ibuprofen (it should ideally in the system before starting whitening. And I swapping sensodyne repair and protect to sensodyne clinical repair, there is absolutely no sensitivity at all..so happy that it's gone.

I brush my teeth with sensodyne before, then wash my trays out after whitening and put the toothpaste in the trays for 10mins after.

I've always struggled with sensitivity so can't believe it's worked

Hi! Sorry to hear you had sensitivity but glad it has eased off. I haven’t really had any since that first time but I also keep forgetting to do it 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I really need to start remembering, I fall asleep on the sofa and then just drag myself to bed and think oh shit 😆

Have you noticed your teeth look brighter yet ?

So pleased you don't have the sensitivity to the paste, because it makes a big difference.

With boutique I saw a difference straight away, and after 3 weeks they were so bright. A few days in they went a bit mottled and uneven looking, but that's normal

I'm on Philips zoom daytime one now, because I can use it for 30mins a day and I'm done. Yes they're looking better, I'm a heavy tea and coffee drinker though, so plenty of surface staining to lift.
