Am I over reacting?

My baby dad had the kids over night on Friday. My son who’s 5 had PE at school so he had joggers and just a t shirt on. They came back today at 1pm and my son had his PE clothes on still? I asked him if he has slept in it and he said yes. It was obvious he did anyway as none of his clean clothes in his bag were touched? I sent clean pants, vests, socks, tops and bottoms and all was neatly placed how I packed it. I can’t help feel annoyed though. Dad sent him to bed with it on.

Maybe it’s not that deep but I just feel annoyed because I would never do that.

It would seriously annoy me too. But, unfortunately there’s not much you can do about it.

I just find it so awfully depressing. On the face of it you’d think there’s nothing really wrong with it as a one-off but there’s something so… unwholesome… about it.

I’m about the furthest thing from an earth mother you can imagine mind you, but this sort of thing just makes me feel so sad.

I’ve been in this situation before too and it really annoyed me. I told DC dad to make sure DS had clean pyjamas on before going to bed and that under no circumstances was he allowed to sleep in his clothes. DS can find transitions difficult so he needs extra support with things like getting dressed etc. There’s certain things I won’t budge on and that’s one of them.

It’s annoying but it’s up to him, this is the downside of breaking up with men who can’t be arsed parenting.
