Can anyone recommend good country park for young kids on the outskirts of north or west London? We are in London and meeting up with people from the midlands.

Ideally somewhere they can take bikes/ scooters, has a cafe, playground/sandpit, maybe some nice lakes ponds etc. We have national trust membership.

we were looking at denham country park but the cafe is closed

Not been for a very long time but perhaps Aldenham Country Park. Close to M1 so good for Midlands access.

Black Park between Denham and Slough is very good and has all that. (Postcode SL3 3DS)

Cassiobury Park in Watford?

I'd second Aldenham, it's a very nice place and easy to get to.

Forty Hall in Enfield is very nice. Cafe, farm & farm shop, walled garden, historic house (museum), lakes, a play area hidden in the woods and fantastic paths for bikes. It's a few minutes inside the M25 j.25
Or Trent Park (Barnet)
Or Aldenham Country Park
Depending on how far round the M25 you want to go.

The Aquadrome in Rickmansworth is lovely, has a great cafe, big playground and is a short walk to the high street for M&S / Waitrose access too.

Windsor Great Park?

The bunny park aka hanwell zoo. Its a free zoo. With a playground and lots of green space to walk in.

Bushy Park, Teddington? Or is that too far into town?

Sadly I think the playground is still closed due to Japanese knotweed... otherwise I agree!

Others nearby:
Black Park
Langley Park
Cassiobury Park (also has a mini train)

Ruislip lido? Has a beach and a park and cafe and cows and a train and a water play area

The playground is closed at the moment due to Japanese knotweed 😞

Trent park near cockfoster tube station is lovely. Also
like Black Park which I see a pp has recommended.
