Robot window cleaners- are they any good?

Not like C3PO with a chamois leather, I mean the ones that are along the same lines as a robot hoover.

There seem to be a few different brands, but this sort of thing:

I live in a flat and am contemplating one as I can’t seem to get a human window cleaner.

Has anybody tried them?

Watching with interest

I’m in!

ProseccoStormtrooper · 17/04/2026 15:59

I don’t want to be the guinea pig though as they’re not cheap!

They're cheaper than I expected. 5/6 visits from the window cleaner is £100.

No idea if they're any good though.

ProseccoStormtrooper · 17/04/2026 16:12

I wouldn’t replace a human window cleaner if I could get one, but I can’t.

Never heard of them OP but they look absolutely brilliant.
My DS owns a flat on the 3rd floor of a building . He has lived there something like 5 years and his windows have never been cleaned on the outside - absolutely incenses me but doesn't bother him at al. I 'm going to do all I can to persuade him to give this robot cleaner a go!.
Thanks OP.

My hairdresser borrowed one and loved it. Used it for shop windows and massive mirrors. Bought the newer version from Amazon (original one no longer available) and hated it.
Not sure of the brand name but I would advise reading reviews carefully and only buying from somewhere that will accept returns if you don’t like it.

ProseccoStormtrooper · 17/04/2026 16:37

Some of them say you can return if you don’t like it but I’m wary it would be one of those situations when you have to send it back at your own expense to China.

My techy DD had a look at the website I linked in the OP and she reckons it might be the sort of website that is a front for a Chinese company.

Oh. I didn't know they were a thing, reviews on Amazon are good.

I imagine if you have a lot of opening windows, I.e. a lot of frames, you need to do a lot of moving it about, but I like the idea of streak free windows without elbow grease.

There are several on Amazon, so you'd return via them?

I have an ecovac win it and it’s great!

I know you're asking in general, but I'd stay well away from the one you linked to!!

It’s really depressing how careful you have to be about scams these days.
