Weighted soft toys for adults.

Please does anyone have a weighted soft toy that they would recommend?

The ads keep popping up on my Facebook feed and I like the idea of feeling hugged. I get no physical contact or affection in my life so would love to feel soothed. They are expensive though and I wonder if I am being gullible. I normally assume anything on a Facebook ad is a con or rubbish but happy to be convinced otherwise.

Thanks in advance for any opinions.

We have a crocodile I believe from Smyth's which spends time on both mine and my son's lap. I do have my eye on a sloth though

Can recommend a weighted blanket for the sensation you're after. I'm sorry I haven't seen any weighted soft toys, unless you fancy a reborn doll. Those are weighted.

Sorry, I had idea these were a thing, but could you open an existing toy and replace the soft filling with a heavier type? It might give you the feel you want and can try before buying something expensive. Or go to a toy shop and try some?

I just bought DD a cheap sloth off Amazon that was bigger and heavier than its competitors. Butnwe don't have any others so I can't tell you it's any better than the rest really.

It's good if you can get one with some weight in the arms because otherwise it's more or less a toy with a bag of lentils inside. Some of the ones I've seen sold as weighted toys look exactly the same as wheat bag soft toys that have been around for years. As PP mentioned a weighted blanket may be more effective. DD likes her sloth but if she had to manage with just one thing she'd pick the blanket.

Thank you all so much for your replies. Lots to consider.

I have a couple from Snugly, they have normal soft toy bodies and weighted arms. It really does feel like they are hugging you. The kids sleep or watch TV with their arms round them. The first one took weeks to arrive but was so soft and beautiful that I immediately ordered another for my other child. We have a sloth and a red panda.
