UB40 generally, but most specifically the nasal drone of whine whine whine, sorry Red, Red Wine. Ridiculously overplayed. Also difficult to avoid when anywhere warm and sunny when reggae music is being used for that tropical vibe.

I have been at several yoga classes lately where there was a gorgeous gentle cover version of this played… I did some googling and found it’s by a Norwegian singer called Okay Kaya… you might change your mind if it’s just Cher you don’t like!

Worst song! I hate it so, so much. And I cannot avoid the radio in work, I must have heard it about 500 times, at least. My collegues were teasing me about how my "favourite song" was coming on again. 😁

I agree with a lot of people's choices on here but I now hear them in a new light when they come on the radio next to current songs as they make me feel nostalgic and just generally sound better than current ones. Oh that reminds me, any current song with that 'oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh' sound! Can't stand it.

@Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies agree its a bit shit but my flatmate and I used to spend hours thinking up alternatives like "I've got a ham but I'm not a hamster" when drunk, so it's kind of fun memories!

Oh yes, Love Shack is an abhorrence. It was everywhere when I was at uni and you just to grit your teeth until if was all over.

However, my hatred for Love Shack is nothing compared to my utter loathing for All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey. It makes me physically react.
