Can strong chemistry with an older woman turn into something serious?

Evening all. I’ve got a date lined up this week and I’m genuinely buzzing, but also a bit in my head about it.

She’s a few years older, incredibly sharp, and—to be blunt—stunning. The chemistry in our messages is heavy; it’s that rare mix of "I can’t wait to talk to her" and "I can’t wait to get her alone."

My dilemma: I’m definitely a "heart on my sleeve" kind of guy. I’m worried that while I’m already imagining actual dates and getting to know her properly, she might just be looking for a bit of fun with a younger man. I don't want to be just a "distraction," but I’m also finding it hard to stay "cool" when I’m this into her.

Is it possible to have that intense, "boytoy" level of chemistry but turn it into something real? Or should I just stop overanalyzing, dress well, and enjoy the ride?

Yes so I'm 36 and would never date a 20 year old. If this woman's my age or older she is probably looking just for fun/ to sleep with you

Hopefully it isn't just fun then again could be a delusional guy...Guess will have to find out today

Plus 20yr old lads dont talk like this or come on Mumsnet for dating advice..!

Yes what made you think of coming on here for dating advice @JumpyLatino ? Perhaps your mum or gran recommended it? Did you think of just asking her instead?

Yes this is AI. The affirmation with posters is a dead give away.

Yes, you’re probably right.

How dull.

Actually also posted on reddit and asked friends. Mumsnet was just an alternative plan and since there's older women on here I thought some could help me out.

FYI- Went out with her already and it was crazy

Yes this is AI. The affirmation with posters is a dead give away.

Even I spotted it was AI! I checked the op and the checker says 100% AI. Benefit of the doubt, it was a poster using AI to write their post. But every single response reads EXACTLY like an AI. And I always struggle to spot these. but there’s something about the way the replies are worded that doesn’t feel natural speech.

Unfortunately, it distracts from the question. Do posters want to spend time replying to something that is possibly just an AI training itself rather than possibly being a genuine user?

Given how unlikely this scenario is and that a 20 year old man would choose Mumsnet to come and ask, I’m going to go with the former.

I suspect this will get removed, but I’m posting it anyway as it might help anyone that sees it re-read the OP’s comments and start to recognise these posts themself in future.
