So I’ve been feeling crappy lately
Tired,achy muscles /bit headachy etc
Then I realised I don’t really drink much
I struggle to even drink a 500ml bottle of water.
i will have 1/4 of a cup of tea on a morning then sip water all day and by the end of the day there will still be some left in the 500ml bottle.

Could this be making me feel a bit crap ?
how much do you all drink ?chat

Yes salt is essential but the recommended limit is 6g a day for an adult. If one stock cube contains 5g then it means a person will likely exceed this safe limit. Best not to drink them as a drink or only use say a quarter of a cube to moderate salt intake.

A person is not going to use all of one stock cube in one dish are they though?

A stock cube (I dont use stock cubes to be honest so this might not bhe right) is for a casserole or soup that serves several people?

Except the person is referring to it as though it is a drink. Lots of people drink mugs of stock or bovril as a hot drink. Which is what I’m advising against due to salt content. Mixed between a larger meal of multiple portions of course is less impactful.

I don't think any of us are doctors so best not to make assumptions. I've been told what I've been told by professionals which pertain to me, as I've said. Nothing further to add. I'm not here to have sodium/salt arguments with strangers!

Of course, if that’s what you’ve been advised then you stick to that as it’s more likely individualised to you. On a general population level salt should be moderated to <6g but everybody is different.

3.2L/daily as a minimum and up to 5L/day when including coffee/tea/stock cubes etc which can be included.

Apparently, all liquid can be included apart from milk (which counts as food) and alcohol.

Garmin (fitness watch) told me above was correct and amount correct for my weight and activity level.

I read an article, recently, that said something like 80% of people are chronically dehydrated. I can't remember what the implications of that were, though.

From the Mayo Clinic…

The amount of fluid a body needs each day can come from water, other beverages and food. Food provides about 20% of the total water you need each day. Many fruits and vegetables are almost 100% water by weight.

Even meat is around 75% water.

OP - sorry your thread has been derailed. You asked for individual information and, somehow, the focus has been on me (which is making me uncomfortable) and does nothing for you.

I'm going to bow out but hope you got the help you needed! All the best!
