Homemade savoury snack ideas for WFH tea breaks!

I do a lot of cooking and baking but I've hit a bit of a brick wall with this, probably because I'm so hard-wired to chocolate consumption after Easter 😁

I WFH and need some SNACKS to keep my energy up and help me stay sane. What can I make that will be help fill me up and won't go off quickly? I know I could just eat fruit but that's not what I'm after here!

Ideally I want savoury - maybe I make some seeded cheese crackers or similar? I make quite a bit of bread but I want something a bit more interesting. Maybe seeded pretzels? Does anyone have any good homemade snack recs for me pls? Bonus points if the kids can have them in packed lunches too!

Roasting nuts is a good idea - I've done a spicy mix before with oceans and cashews, as a pre-donner nibble with drinks but no reason I can't eat that all day!

I had also forgotten pita chips l, which I LOVE (and I do have an air fryer, so that's quick).

I have some filo and kale to use up today so was planning to make a big spanokopita type pie but I might also make some little individual ones in a muffin tray and see how they keep.

Just made a big batch of raspberry and plum compote for granola and yoghurt breakfasts - at least I'll have that as a back-up!

These are phenomenal. I add 1tsp salt to the main dough but don't bother with the whole topping, just do an egg wash: https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/onion_pretzels_86509

Cheese cornbread muffins - various recipes online.

Leftover vegetable fritters also make good material for snacking.

These savoury pretzel rolls make a delicious lunch - try stuffing them with your favourite sandwich fillings.

@MoreRabbit

Do your kale in the oven. Spread it out on a baking tray, spray with oil. Sesame is recommended, but olive oil works too. Sprinkle with salt and put in a hot oven for 10 mins. Lovely, crispy, salty kale. You can also add a bit of sugar and (?)cinnamon to make it more like the crispy seaweed you get at the Chinese takeaway.

Those pretzels some amazing @Reader19 - will try those. @TrustworthyMartini I LOVE kale done like that ❣️

I made a lovely spanokopita and with the leftover filo I made some feta and honey filo cigars, which were pretty good.

I was also inspired by @EveryDayisFriday to make Everything Bagel seasoning and I've been putting that on...well, everything 😃

Tried some apricot bliss balls (thanks @Selttan!) but I wasn't that keen tbh. I think I'll stock up on pita this weekend and make pita chips...with more of the Bagel seasoning...
