Suffered with this occasionally for about a year. First episide was truly awful as I had no idea what was happening. Was on the verge of calling an ambulance when it eased.

Was awake a few nights ago with it, took 2 x rennie. Awake about 90 minutes.

Woke tonight 11.30ish (not long been asleep) took 2 rennie, fell back to sleep after an hour.

Woke again 1.30. 2 more but just doesnt seem to be easing. Cant sleep, cant settle at all. Feeling hot and a bitnausea.

Found gaviscon tablets, would you takrle 2 also? Also found Ranitidone but 7yrs out if date so guess thats a no

Please help any suggestions, this is awful.

Could be gallstones - this is exactly how mine started, middle of the night from nowhere. The Dr's initially gave me omeprazole which masked it a bit.
A month and a half later my gallbladder was out.
I hope you're OK.

The liquid versions of Gaviscon are more effective than the tablets.

But you need to see a GP. You might have a hiatus hernia or some other condition - you need an endoscopy to find out what's going on. Your GP might be able to prescribe proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) which lessen acid production in your stomach, while it's being investigated

Food wise - avoid spicy foods, alcohol, creamy or oily foods, and creamy drinks. Try to eat early in the evening. Sitting up in bed or raising one end of your bed can help. Don't over-eat, that's the worst thing you can do - don't eat until you feel 'stuffed'.

Definitely get a GP appointment to follow it up. You’ll need an ultrasound to check for gallstones.

Just catching up on this. @Bemyclementine- dark urine can indicate a blocked bile duct and jaundice. Please see your GP urgently.
