Anyone else had a response from the Beeb to their complaint about the Reform logo being used on the news?

Would that be contingent on expecting one ?

Best way to complain to the BBC is stop paying. Maybe they'd wise up under commercial pressure.

Yes, a lot of bollocks it is

Dear Audience Member

Thank you for contacting the BBC over an edition of BBC Breakfast broadcast on Monday 20th April 2026.

Chief political correspondent Henry Zeffman was reporting live from Downing Street on the main political stories of the day. This was dominated by the upcoming statement from Prime Minister Keir Starmer on the vetting of Peter Mandelson and his appointment as UK ambassador to the US.

Henry was also asked to explain the significance of an announcement by Reform UK on asylum. As he was in Downing Street it was decided to use an on-screen banner to underline what the key points of the proposal were to differentiate this part of the live broadcast from his first answer which was on a different topic.

This sequence preceded an interview with Reform UK’s Home Affairs spokesman Zia Yusuf in that hour so it helped inform the audience about the issue. During that interview Mr Yusuf was challenged over how the policy would work and some of the criticism that had already been levelled at the policy.

It’s not new for BBC News to use the logos of different parties to illustrate their position on certain issues. It's something we do occasionally to help audience understanding and this will continue in the future.

We hope this helps to clarify our approach, and we very much value your feedback. News editors at the programme have seen your concerns, which helps to inform decisions about current and future content.

Such a beautiful day and the good weather continues until the end of next week. My mum died on this day two years ago.

It was, wasn’t it? Obviously mine is identical.

sympathies. It was my late dad’s birthday on Wednesday. He’d have been 105.

Deepest sympathies to those who lost loved ones. It's slightly upsetting that despite their passing being 6 years apart, I miss my DPs equally.

However, in an attempt to brink some joy, here's wonderful story about Scotch* wildcats 😀

@placematsvery sorry Flowers
my mum died 22 years ago this month. Obviously not as raw but I was shocked when I worked out just how long I’ve been without her.

cardibach · 24/04/2026 13:29

Doesn’t help if it means they aren’t elected and a Reform person is instead though. The d’Hondt system is Byzantine in its complexity when you want to achieve blocking of one party as well as getting someone you want into post. The lists make it quite tricky to got for a person too…

STV would have been far better. A system where you choose a person as well as a party. I bet the proportion of those elected who are middle aged men would decrease.

Karistyleaftea · 24/04/2026 16:15

What patronising utter bollocks the reply from the BBC is @DuncinToffee .
Across the pond they've decided seemingly to have a look at the Falklands,
How will you "pitch" this one BBC?

BIossomtoes · 24/04/2026 16:29

Not only patronising but snippy - It's something we do occasionally to help audience understanding and this will continue in the future. So fuck you, essentially. I’m tempted to stop paying my license on the back of that!

Piggywaspushed · 24/04/2026 16:57

My sibling just organised my mum's scattering on a week I couldn't travel without any input whatsoever from me and with a really really shit plaque.

I have just moved beyond the fucking livid stage.

I won’t get a licence any more - they were also (still are) arsy about declaring you don’t need one and I’m always cross about it - I don’t nip down to the cop shop weekly to tell them I don’t need a gun licence! I got rid of my tv in 2016 so thought I did the right thing to let them know, but they’ve been rude and aggressive before, when I called late to declare on the 2 year declaration they had, as my Dad had passed away.

I don’t understand how it is a ‘thing’ that you have to be written to every 3 months now despite the declaration even and threatened with visits and fines - it really annoys me. I don’t actually use anything that I’d need a licence for - but I know some people do use it anyway without a licence - but address that in a different way please.

Anyway, it all confirmed I will be stubborn and not pay ever again - I could say it’s as I don’t approve of paedophile nor reform supporters but it’s actually their approach to not needing a licence - and I do use R4 though if that’s hypocritical ha!

https://labour.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Reform-Dossier.pdf

Dossier on all Reform candidates - huge amount of work has gone into this. Some of the stuff is awful. Actually all of it is.

Just flicked through this - there are some real horrors listed.
i know one of them - and I must say it’s no surprise.

So ethnic minorities don't work? Working people are all white?

Absolutely agree. It’s so hard to know what to do, so I’m just voting aplaid and crossing everything for the sixth seat…

ThatbloodyRoblox · 24/04/2026 20:31

Evening everybody. The drama that goes with local elections is ramping up on our local FB pages. Lots of vocal Reform voters. The local Reform leaflet is dire and the candidates just spout national Reform stuff. “ close hotels for illegal immigrants” - we don’t have any hotels used for people seeking asylum in our whole county!
I can’t vote Lib Dem , they voted for a rubbish option for my district re LGR- so they can get lost!
No Labour councillor standing ( unsurprising as they never get a look in)
So Green it may be for me. Either Green or a sweary message on my ballot paper.
My ward is a 3 seat ward and I think 2/3may go Reform with Con getting other.
i haven’t yet watched the banned LP broadcast so off to have a little look.
I have been pretty much out of it with a bad back for last few days. Saw the osteopath this morning and getting by with super strength pain relief- which helps me get through the benefit bashing threads on here with zen like calm!
