Recommendations needed for new family car

We have a skoda octavia estate which is now 10 years old and is constantly having things go wrong and costing a lot of money to get fixed, so we are looking at a new family car. It needs to be a good size with a big boot (2 adults and 2 children) as we go on holiday a lot in this country so tend to pack a lot. We are however out of the puschair, travel cot stage now. We like hybrids as have had a few hybrid hire cars recently and find they tend to be economical on fuel. Not keen on plug ins but I am aware this limits us. Not diesel, our current car is diesel and I have found it seems to have more problems. Looking for automatic as our current car has had lots of clutch problems.
Our last few cars have been skodas but open to others that aren't too expensive but are reliable. Has anyone got any recommendations? Thanks.

We have Hyundi Ionic hybrid automatic that we love.Big boot,so easy to drive. Cost of petrol halved. Not plug in but recharges battery when you brake. It’s a saloon so don’t know if you want/theydo estate version. Highly recommend anyway.

I loved my Skoda Karoq automatic. I don’t think it’s a hybrid though. The boot space is excellent.

It depends whether you want new or second hand and how much you want to spend. Toyota, Mazda etc are good, or what about the Chinese brands Omoda or Jaecoo.
