WWYD - Karaoke pod

I’m going on holiday tomorrow for a week with my youngest son (14). He enjoys singing and karaoke, at Xmas he and his cousin hog the mic all night. I also love singing, but I’m beyond terrible at it. Truly tone deaf.

I noticed on the activities available for our holiday, karaoke pods are available. I thought this would be perfect for us, but when I asked him he said he really didn’t want to, and didn’t want to sit in there with me singing for an hour lol.

No problem, I figured I just wouldn’t bother. But a few days later he came to me and said book the pod for myself, he would go for a walk around the site for the time I’m in there. He’s a good boy and I trust him, but he’s a very young 14 if that makes sense. He does go out for walks by himself at home etc.

The site is a closed site, security won’t let under 16’s leave without an adult so no worries about him wandering off.

I just feel really guilty at the thought of leaving him for an hour on holiday. So I didn’t book it. But he’s just come and asked me which day I’ve booked the karaoke for, and when I said I hadn’t he asked why not and that he’s looking forward to a walk on his own!

So what would you do? Book the pod, go sing to your hearts content & let the boy wander - he’ll know where I am if he needs me; book the pod and make him join me; or don’t book the pod and find something else to do.

Only given one day on the voting due to the holiday being tomorrow lol!

Sounds fine to me, he's perfectly old enough to wander around a resort, and actually I think it's healthy for him to take that opportunity. go for it I'd say.

Thanks Echo! It’s weird, if we were at home it wouldn’t even cross my mind to worry about it. And we’ve been to this place 3 times previously, so he knows the site too. I’m overthinking I guess!
