NSFW First Aid Kit

(Apologies if photo has not yet loaded)

Just opened my Questaplast First Aid kit, was reading the Sterile Guaze Swab information and had to do a double take.

Here I was about to initiate sexual contact with this bandage, but luckily the instructions stopped me.

Surely 'touching' would have been a better word??

Has anyone else seen inappropriate wording on regular everyday items? This had added some humour to my morning lol

Ok.

Fingering seems a perfectly sensible word to use, given that they want you to specifically avoid touching it with your fingers.

Fingering has lots of uses as a word outside of the sexual use. My piano teacher was forever going on at me about my lack of fingering skills.

Im too childish for this word to be used in a non-sexual manner. If I had a piano teacher say that to me id be cracking up 😭

Well yeah, so am I. But I was the same when my trumpet teacher told me to give it a good hard blow as well, but that doesn't mean "blow" is a word that can't be used in any other situation either.

(Before anyone gets the idea that I'm some kind of musical prodigy, those are the only two instruments I can play, and I play both incredibly badly.)

I was of the impression you were a musical prodigy tbh. Its a good job I never took up an instrument with words like this being used oh dear

This is becoming a very humourless place. Even when OPs include “lighthearted “ in the title, the curmudgeons still scroll through and post their displeasure. Perhaps posts like yours should come with a TW “contains content which might cause smiling”.

And now they’ve irritated me, I can’t remember any similarly ambiguous labels or signs to add to your thread 😠

But I do think double entendres, just those words, sounds filthy. Will that count?

BillStickersWillBeProsocuted · 07/04/2026 12:27

Reminds me of Tim Minchens "3 minute song"

All about how he had to write a song that's a maximum of 3 minutes long and in no way offensive to get on TV - contains the line "but I bet I get a giggle with my fingering" before a little piano solo

The best part is I've seen him perform it twice, once on the Royal Variety show and on Ruth Jones show and only 1 version had that line - so it must have been deemed to offesive for one of them! (can't remember which one had it and which didn't)

Haha im surprised that made it on TV at all! People who know nothing about musical instruments (like me) would have only taken it one way lmao

I'm with you OP. I smirk to myself every time I'm watching an American crime show and they talk about "fingering the perp".

I work in planning so often have to hear or talk about people's erections 😳
