My mother has a stray cat that came to visit her approx 8 years ago and she fed him and he kept returning. He was feral but he did eventually become more calm around people.
He's an older cat now. He smells of pee a lot. I think he's not able to groom himself properly.
He was attacked approx 2 weeks ago and his eye became injured.
He's only ever been declining since then. His face is.
He is a cat that needs a vet. I reckon he needs to go to sleep. It's his quality of life. He's not able to groom himself.
I am completely on my own in relation to wanting to help this animal. My mother his bitter about the possibilty of a vet charge or even having me spend some money on a vet bill.
He is an animal that needs help. I work hard and to be honest. I don't mind dropping the guys of 200 quid to help him go to sleep. It's not ideal but it is what it is.
I am familiar of another animal service where a vet does house calls for compassionate end of life at home. It is more expensive. I think maybe this would be more ideal for me because I don't own a car or drive. If I had a car I would put him into it and just go to a vet without telling anyone.
I just get disapproval from everyone in my life when I try to discuss this cat. They say tomcats just go off and die in the wild. Yet, he keeps coming back for food.
I kinda do like this cat and I would miss him so much but I really do think the kindest thing is to help them pass over. I pity him so much. He had no real proper home. He's very clever.
I need to get some advice please about what way to go.
It's also a bank holiday this weekend so it makes things a little harder regarding vets because many will be closed. I am also working overtime and I am tired and easily sick with migraine. This extra level of stress doesn't help.
What do you guys think.
