Vinted arghhhh

Is it me or is almost every item of clothing listed on vinted as a 16-18 actually a 16. I need size 18!! How I wish they hadn't changed the way they categorise the sizes. Has anyone found a way to search for their size directly ? I tried searching size 18 but no luck either. Thanks

It's shit now isn't it? My spending on Vinted has slumped to almost nothing. I can either look at clothes size 8-10, or 12-14. (I am a size 10-12).

It is a total waste of my time to search through 4 clothes sizes for the occasional thing I like which would actually fit. Every so often I open the app, try, and give up within a few minutes.

It’s such a pain. I really appreciate sellers that put the actual size in the item title, that way it shows up when you hover over it (on the website) and it should mean that those items show up if you include a size in the search terms. But you still have to check each item and then be disappointed when it’s not the size you want.

When the change happened I complained via the Vinted help, but they had no idea what the issue they caused was and just kept repeating that having dual size bands is better and what people want!

devuskums · 03/04/2026 22:40

I havent met anyone who likes the changes! I wonder if their revenue has been affected much, ive certainly cut down my purchases by at least 80%

Yep. It's made me stop using vinted altogether. After a couple of orders not fitting well I just gave up. I also lost the will to list items for sale because the size options are all wrong and confuses buyers.

firstofallimadelight · 03/04/2026 22:49

Such a grief I’m a 14 but a med (12-14) is too small. So I have to trawl through all the mediums and reject the 12-14’s, the 12’s and 10’s (??) and if I’m lucky a couple will be 14.
I’ve stopped bothering tbh not worth the grief.

Justmyramblings · 03/04/2026 23:00

Pretty new to Vinted but I HATE the filters, really poor. compared to Ebay. I’m the hope of a Vinted boffin reading this thread..!

Find it odd that people have an issue with this. Clothing sizes are so completely arbitrary that I can be anything from a 6 to a 10, depending on the brand / item / style / age of the clothes (eg in old clothes I’m a 10, newer stuff I’m a 6) Surely if you’re usually a 14, you might also be a 12 or 16 depending on the item? I find it hard to believe someone ONLY fits in a 14, as there are no uniform measurements for a 14.

I know certain brands fit me in a particular size so I tend to go for these when I buy online from ebay or vinted. I agree that sizing variation is crazy though.

@awalkalongthecanal I’m looking for specific brands, in which I know exactly what size I am in that brand. So it’s super annoying that I can’t filter out the size I don’t want in the dual size category.

GloiredeDijon · 04/04/2026 00:07

It is utterly ridiculous.
Today I have been looking for some size 14 long Next jeans.
To do so I have to look through every pair of Next jeans in 12-14 and 16-18 because some are still listed under the bigger category if they were listed pre Vinted’s size changes.
In the end I gave up.

SilenceInside · 04/04/2026 00:09

Oh there ought to be the option to filter on trouser length (short, regular, long) as well, that would be useful.

NedsAtomicWheelieBin · 04/04/2026 00:43

It is bloody annoying - I'm the same as you OP but seem to find more 18s than 16s. I wish people would put the measurements on ie underarm to underarm and neck to bottom (and on ebay too!)

DilemmaDelilah · 04/04/2026 09:19

I need an XL (20-22) on Vinted - but so many sellers see XL on the label and ASSUME it is the right category to put it in on Vinted! Many many times it is not. It is frequently a size 16, sometimes smaller than that. And it's not because Vinted have changed their sizing structure (although they have) as I always sort by newest first.

However, for me as a buyer, the aarrgghh is the poor quality of the photos, the fact that no effort seems to have been made to make the clothes look good - a lot of them are really creased!, and when I do get them they stink of febreze, or unstoppables, or air freshener. And I have had a couple of things recently that have been sent in plastic bags. The thin ones.

GloiredeDijon · 04/04/2026 09:36

People who put a highly scented fabric freshener sheet in with the item drive me mad.

I throw whatever it is straight in the machine to get rid of the chemical stink.

Daren’t mention it (or indeed poor packing etc) on a review for an item you are accepting because so many respond with a vengeful counter review if you do.

I made the mistake of giving an accurate and honest review a while ago and the (very rude and immature) seller gave me my one and only negative review in revenge full of complete lies.

I just don’t leave a review on anything which I have accepted but for which I have criticisms.

It means auto positive feedback is eventually given by Vinted but it is the best I can do.

I write a very positive review for all items I am pleased with.

MimiGC · 04/04/2026 10:09

Yes, the new system is very annoying and time consuming. I now only buy something if the seller has taken a photo of the actual garment label. I wish all sellers would do this.
