Nothing can't see a single person ,no cars going up and down the road.

Not a thing as per usual; I live in a quiet cul de sac at the edge of a small Irish village in the middle of nowhere.

The most excitement we get is the neighbour's beagle at the end of the street going off on a barkfest because it thinks it heard something. The poor creature lives outside in a dog run, and the barking must drive the houses closest to it absolutely nuts. I'm so glad I'm far enough away for it not to bother me, it's so fecking cruel and inconsiderate.

We also occasionally hear vicious rows late at night coming from the house on the corner. A man and a woman shrieking drunken obscenities at each other at all hours. No idea who they are and no desire to find out, tbh. I just wish they'd piss off and leave us to our peace and quiet apart from that sodding beagle

Well it is 4.00 am so nothing much, maybe a fox or a hedgehog.

During the day my cat can generally be found in the middle of the street asleep or cleaning herself.

It's a good job it's a quiet cul-de-sac.

Nothing waiting for DW taxi 5.15 to take her to work.

Toastandjam16 · 04/04/2026 05:02

Just heard the first trill of a bird. Going back to bed now after a bathroom trip and I expect to hear the occasional car go by outside and more birds, which will help me go back to sleep.

MsSmartShoes · 04/04/2026 05:45

Neighbours leaving for another lovely holiday.

Mydogisagentleman · 04/04/2026 05:54

Absolutely nothing.
We live in an extremely quiet road.
And it is 05.54

Tiddlywinks63 · 04/04/2026 06:25

Absolutely nothing here either. I live on a very quiet, small estate, we back onto woodland so it’s usually muntjac barking, foxes, owls or woodpeckers 😁

Mydogisagentleman · 04/04/2026 06:45

Just got out of the shower and looked out of the bedroom window.
4 Muntjacs and 3 grown peacocks are strolling around now

SerenitySeeker4 · 04/04/2026 06:49

Same here.

Scottsquare · 04/04/2026 06:49

Birds are tweeting, neighbours oil boiler is running, tractor in the field behind us and and a flight from San Francisco to Frankfurt is above.

1000StrawberryLollies · 04/04/2026 07:24

Nothing much! I'm in a quiet cul de sac in a fairly rural village in Cumbria. A lovely little wren is hopping about in the front garden and I can hear a blackbird. Looking between the houses opposite I can see the bay and the fells beyond. The tide is out and everything looks still and a bit grey. One of my neighbours just drove past, probably on her way to work. Most of the people on my road are retired.

TheHellHoundBlackShuck · 04/04/2026 07:26

A grey partridge is walking along.

Icannotremembermyusername · 04/04/2026 07:42

Windy, trees and leaves blowing with rain drops running down the window. Neighbour just emerged stretching for his morning run, tractor in field spreading manure. Quiet rural cul de sac in Devon

Allisgoodtoday · 04/04/2026 07:46

There isn't even a street outside my window.....!
Extremely rural, absolutely quiet; unless you count the wind, the distant sheep fields, the call of the pheasant.
It's like this outside my window every day - summer, winter, rush hour, evening. Utter bliss, I'm living the dream 😊

whattheysay · 04/04/2026 08:02

Nothing at all, I am looking out of my window at fields. Occasionally cars or tractors go by along the road at the end of the drive but it’s quite a long drive and it’s surrounded by trees and bushes so I hardly see anything. Like the pp, I am also living the dream!

Snugglemonkey · 04/04/2026 09:16

A squirrel is eating something. Some tiny birds are in the tree opposite. I have no glasses on and cannot identify them. We are quite rural. I can hear cows, but cannot see them today.

TicklishLemonHiker · 04/04/2026 09:35

bloopbleep

TheeNotoriousPIG · 04/04/2026 09:55

I just had to shepherd a lamb back into its field, as it was down by where we park the cars. Other than sheep grazing and lambs playing on the other side of the lane from my house, not much!

eurochick · 04/04/2026 10:09

It’s quiet here. I’ve only got three nearish neighbours and I’m pretty sure two lots are away.

There is a Shetland in the field next door chasing a donkey. I’m not sure if they are playing or if the pony is trying to get frisky. He would be on a hiding to nothing there as the donkey is male.

I can hear a very distant him from the nearest motorway. No other sounds. Scratch that - a motorbike hooning somewhere has just shattered the peace. But that will be gone soon.

Arran2024 · 04/04/2026 10:10

Always people walking their dogs on the way to the woods and park at the end of the road.

maysayyea · 04/04/2026 10:58

Someone has just “half blocked” a neighbours drive and walked away. Im guessing they are going to a local Easter event any will be a few hours. My neighbour will not be happy. It’s really rude and inconsiderate

toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 · 04/04/2026 11:00

Can't see a thing except the occasional squirrel and trees, bet you can all guess where we went on holiday for Easter??

bowlinginthesun · 04/04/2026 11:13

New people across the road are having a new suite delivered.

ForPearlViper · 04/04/2026 11:19

Generally very little. However, on the nearby through road is a small music school so we often have 'men of a certain age' parking up and walking off with their guitars.

Zippidydoodah · 04/04/2026 11:20

Nothing, though my son’s friend has just turned up and I couldn’t answer the door as I’m still in my dressing gown. Son was asleep. That was fun 🙄
