Nothing can't see a single person ,no cars going up and down the road.

Has been lovely and quiet today. Usually the neighbour has to spend 12 minutes trying to park with BING BING BING BING going off constantly at least three times a day.

Randomchat · 03/04/2026 20:13

Some amazing clouds racing by lit by the last of the sun. Gorgeous.

At ground level the usual cars, couplenof lads roding about on their e-scooters.

At 8.15pm the family at number 13 will let their dog out into the garden. It will bark, then 3 other dogs will hear it and also bark. Their little evening chit-chat. They do it every single night at the exact same time. Then again at 10.30pm. Regular as clockwork.

Lovely and peaceful up here in a village just outside Stirling.

TheTortiePuffinNeedsHerBreakfast · 03/04/2026 20:15

I live opposite a park. A bloke and his dog have just come out. The dog is wearing a multi coloured light up collar 😁

pinneddownbytabbies · 03/04/2026 20:16

Nothing at all as far as I know, but the cat has just gone out so I'll ask him when he comes back in.

NigellaDelia · 03/04/2026 20:19

What a lovely thread this is ~ thanks for starting it, OP

I'm really enjoying imagining where you all are and picturing the things you describe. I live in a terraced house on a very long road in a city which has a military base. We get a lot of helicopters flying over but it's been quiet today

It's amazing to me to read about sheep escaping, people riding ponies down lanes and badgers in gardens.

It's a shame it's now dark so I cant see anything outside so nothing more to report

elQuintoConyo · 03/04/2026 20:21

Full on Easter processions here - I'm in Spain. Town is buzzing, people everywhere, police have cordoned off streets, so they're dotted about here and there with their lights on. We're about to have dinner and will go out around 10pm to see some of it. It'll likely go on until 2am, but we'll be out about an hour. Looking forward to seeing the Roman legionnaires!

NormasArse · 03/04/2026 20:24

I can’t see the street because we’re in a courtyard, but by 10pm, the street will be full of people walking from pub to pub.

(market town with a lot of pubs!)

Ellenanora7 · 03/04/2026 20:27

Next door teenagers got out of the car fighting, the Mum got out and promptly got back in and drove off, they just stared after her and eventually went inside, she's still not back but they got a takeaway delivered about an hour ago.

Some kids and parents were playing football on the green but they've gone in now.

I overlook the bay and one big ship, probably a ferry has sailed on by.

I live down a long drive off a private road. Nothing ever happens.

I need to qualify this. We have squirrel warz, the jackdaws are determined to infiltrate the bird feeder and the woodpeckers are pecking hard to get a mate. Meanwhile the deer are wandering past chomping on everything. It's idyllic!

CharlotteSometimeslikesanafternoonnap · 03/04/2026 20:30

Nothing. It's blowing a gale (not literally) and gone very cold, so I think everyone is hibernating this evening, not that it's ever that busy.

Fgfgfg · 03/04/2026 20:34

Just heard two cars beeping horns and there's a hum of traffic from the main road (we're on a side street). Strangely quiet for an inner city area.

feellikeanalien · 03/04/2026 20:34

Absolutely nothing . We are on a main road from Scotland to England but our part of it must be one of the the quietest main road in the UK. Even the field just up from us where you can normally hear the sheep is quiet as it is lambing season so I think they've all been moved to the barn.
Sky is clear and it looks like it's going to be a cold night. Will probably go out to look at the stars later.

Getamoveon2024 · 03/04/2026 20:45

Absolutely nothing. And that is why we bought this house. No neighbours within sight or hearing distance. It’s lovely 🥰

JustSayingReally · 03/04/2026 21:02

I live in a fairly quiet street. The neighbours over the road are having a party but I can’t really hear much noise. Other than that it’s just parked cars and nobody else about that I can’t see

Pedallleur · 03/04/2026 21:11

Nothing. V.quiet street and has been for years. It's great

hexsnidgett · 03/04/2026 21:19

The squirrels are tucked up, as are the rooks and pigeons.
They are usually louder than the people at the back.

TheDenimPoet · 03/04/2026 21:25

Teenagers are sitting on a wall a little further up the street with a boom box, playing music very loudly.

This happens every school holiday, even when the weather is awful.

TulipsDaffsAndSunshine · 03/04/2026 21:28

rightoguvnor · 03/04/2026 19:31

In the very best Car Share tradition - Dogging.
They congregate on the conservation fields this time of the evening.
I don’t know why as the houses round here have a third of an acre gardens so you’d think they could just do their dogging in their own gardens but no, they traipse up to the conservation fields.

Ewww! 😬

usernamebetty · 03/04/2026 21:28

Giant slow plow is loudly and slowly clearing all the old winters snow off the sides of the road onto the verge. I live in Alaska!

Luckyingame · 03/04/2026 21:31

Totally dark and dead out here, apart from a fox casually checking the bins (and lifting his leg up).

Iliketulips · 03/04/2026 21:32

One of my cats shot out of the cat flap just as I started reading this thread, just checked out the front and he's sat at the end of our drive watching life go by😻

Callmebubblesdarlingeverybodydoes · 03/04/2026 21:33

The library outside steptoe house hasn’t been picked up, there’s a lot of leaves blowing around thanks to storm Dave and the house over the road 3 doors down has wrapped an entire room in clingfilm (lights on, no curtains) so I assume they’re going to paint the walls/ceiling.

Ilmiopinguino · 03/04/2026 21:37

All quiet here but I've been watching the hedgehogs who come for their dinner.

MintoTime · 03/04/2026 21:40

Very little.residential street in a posh arrondissement in France. The spring holidays started today so most people have shot off to their country homes / parents in law for the Easter weekend. There are a free teens playing neither in the pitch opposite but they are generally pretty well behaved. I love our street - a l little island of calm and community despite being city centre.
