Joint to sole tenancy housing association help

Hello!

I need some advice, I have a 2 bedroom housing association flat (social housing) with my partner and son, assured joint tenancy since 2015

My partner is wanting to put her name on her parents new 3 bed house as an occupant, the house would be her parents as the main joint tenants,

I'd be staying at the flat with our son for schooling purposes, do I need to get the tenancy changed from a joint tenancy to a sole tenancy in just my name ? And do I nerf to change the joint universal credit claim to a single claim ?

Why would she need to put her name on her parents’ tenancy agreement? Seems like nothing dodgy going on here at all

The housing association will see this scam coming a mile off

You don’t really need to do this tbh, but you can change it if your partner has permanently moved out. It doesn’t affect benefits either way.

I don’t get the “scam” though- what’s the advantage of being an occupant of the parents joint tenancy?

Sorry just re read and it’s a joint benefit claim which does change things, yes you need to change it all to sole claim / tenancy

I work for a housing association and this is 100% tenancy fraud.

The partner is moving out i think? “I’m staying here with our son for schooling”

Surely it isn’t worth losing your secure tenancy to commit fraud. What will you do when you lose the tenancy?
