Family cat has chosen to join me :)

Family cat and I do not get along. She was a freebie when I was a young teen and I raised her from a kitten, but in adulthood she didn’t want a thing to do with me! Im more of a dog person anyway so it doesn’t bother me.

of course I do often feed her, give her a quick chin-scratch, give her treats, and play with her… but most of the time we politely tolerate one another. We have all sorts of household pets ( dog, lizard, horses, rodents) so it’s not that I’m not a pet person. I very much love animals and my aunt’s cats adore me, but this one doesn’t!

She is very much my mum’s cat. I’m also horribly allergic so I do not let her in my room nor have I ever (so I unfortunately rarely see her now!)

left for uni, came back - and I got some pretty upsetting news today. I came back in a bit of a state, went into my room… and she tried to dart in! I shoved her (politely) into my mum’s room and went back into my own, but she trotted into my room and got straight onto my bed 😳

so, here I am - cat curled up beside me. She seems pretty content I guess, and I’ll have to take an antihistamine but it’s lovely to have a bit of company.

maybe it’s a ploy to smother me 😃 who knows, I’ll sleep with one eye open

Aw, that is very sweet. I hope she comforts you a bit with her presence and are okay.
