Were your children all conceived in the same place?

Complete lighthearted - DH and I are trying for a baby, and realised that due to moving house (and second DC being conceived on holiday), if we get pregnant with #3, none of the children will have been conceived in the same place.

So, an entirely unscientific poll - if you have more than one DC, were your children conceived in the same place?

As far as I remember/know, both mine were conceived at home

ThisStateOfIndependenceShallBe · 02/04/2026 17:49

Not even on the same continent.

Whoops75 · 02/04/2026 17:49

We lived in four houses together and all our kids were conceived and brought home to different homes.

Different countries... but where we living, not on holiday.

SarahAndQuack · 02/04/2026 17:54

Nope! And I wasn't even in the room when one of mine was conceived. Grin Weirdly, that one's my biological child; I was in the room when my non-bio daughter was conceived.

Hatty65 · 02/04/2026 17:57

Eldest I can't remember (They are mid 30s now), but I think we were away ski-ing. Second one, conceived on holiday in Ireland. Third one I have no clue, fourth one conceived in a very dodgy hotel after a drunken Scottish wedding.

Agamede · 02/04/2026 18:06

Nope. Four DC’s, three continents.

Didimum · 02/04/2026 18:16

I have twins. I sure hope they were conceived in the same place.

I’d be impressed!

I wouldn’t know- two of them are adopted 😁

Edited

I’m going to guess.. you had IVF for your own biological child and used home insemination for your wife’s? Otherwise I can’t work it out 🤣

Owenspannas · 02/04/2026 18:19

DTwins were conceived in the other side of the world but in the same bed as DC who was conceived in the UK

ShanghaiDiva · 02/04/2026 18:20

Different countries for mine.

With the benefit of hindsight, this poll is missing a ‘don’t know’!

Pretty much! Grin IVF for me and IUI at a clinic for her, but I was there the whole time and we went home together, so whenever conception actually happened, I was around.

I find it so weird with IVF that they ring you up to tell you the eggs fertilised (or didn't) while you were driving home. IUI also cracks me up because they fish out a vial of liquid and ask seriously 'and this this your sperm?'

As if you'd recognise it from the selection you made on the sperm bank website.

I was thinking the same but didn’t want to pry (also accept the possibility I am being dense!)

Does different rooms count?

Good question. Have not thought this through.

In any rate with kids’ sleep as it is, if we do get #3 it’ll likely be in the living room 😁

All 3 in the same city but all in different houses.

Shallotsaresmallonions · 02/04/2026 18:29

We will have two soon! Conceived in the same room, but different beds, and in neither of our home countries.

Meetmeunderthemoonlight · 02/04/2026 18:55

Different locations and none of them were conceived in a bed.

Youshouldbestrongerthanme · 02/04/2026 19:40

Considering my 5 yo daughter is with a different man to my 16 and 18 yo sons...then no 😀

Marmite27 · 02/04/2026 19:41

Mine weren’t even conceived in the same country!
