Can we please stop making ChatGPT posters?

I appreciate a good poster- made by a human that comes out well. One I’ve never seen before. Ok maybe based on a word template but it’s nice.
a ChatGPT poster stands out a mile for me! It’s obviously ChatGPT. When I first saw one I thought ok it reminds me of a 90s football magazine (match! I think) but I said well done to its proud ‘creator’. They felt proud of their work.
now I keep seeing this 90s style poster everywhere! I cringe each time. Even my company is producing them!
just make your own poster!
anyone with me?

Yes! I noticed this lots of businesses keep having the same AI theme! Is there a new template out or something 🙈

Brownbananaspot · 02/04/2026 11:07

Definitely not just you. My workplace only seems to make AI posters now. It smacks of laziness and not really caring about what they're advertising (ironically usually a wellbeing initiative)

franklymydearscarlett · 02/04/2026 11:07

I haven’t seen this - can you post a link?

pimplebum · 02/04/2026 11:08

Also , more importantly aren’t we destroying the planet using AI ?

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 02/04/2026 11:13

I'm absolutely on the fence! Like you, I enjoy a good poster. But I'm good at making posters, sometimes with the help of a template. BUT I've seen others criticise the stuff I use AI for, saying essentially leave the creative stuff to people. But I'm not creative when it comes to writing, certainly not in my second language, I need a grammer (or grammar?) check, and I have this task that needs to be done and not much time and a million other things in my head.

Onadark · 02/04/2026 11:20

I kind of agree with you but on the other hand there has been a marked improvement in the quality/spag of the posts since ChatGbt.

I guess AI is for people who can't string a sentence together without it but at least the quality of the english it produces is good.

Watchoutfortheslowaraf · 02/04/2026 11:23

I’ve seen these posters everywhere too! I’m also not a fan

Shedmistress · 02/04/2026 11:25

Yeah I hate them. Id rather them write the menu on the back of a fag packet and take a photo and post that, than these AI posters telling you what the menu is.

And with Digital tax too.

seriousandloyal · 02/04/2026 21:40

Yes I have seen these posters everywhere too, all in exactly the same style you can spot them a mile off! Really dislike them.

DamnBuster · 02/04/2026 21:52

Do you mean adverts on billboards? I cant say I've noticed. What I have noticed is that all cheap/scammy adverts online now look the same though.

They all look identical! As a graphic designer I beseech you all to stop “creating” these abominations!

As another graphic designer I second this sentiment. I had to show my colleagues the poster that the PTA at my son’s school ‘made’ for the Easter disco. It was just horrific 🤮

Nitgel · 02/05/2026 23:49

Seen loads on LinkedIn

They look so naff

but then companies would have to pay or have an employee use microsoft publisher etc or at least thats what i used back in the day to make posters.

Xanadu78 · 02/05/2026 23:52

Even a bog standard Canva template is a vast improvement

APurpleSquirrel · 02/05/2026 23:52

Yes! They’re awful. I too make posters for our PTA events but I use Canva & design them myself. Sometimes editing an existing template, sometimes making from scratch. These things all look the same & blend into one & it really puts me off the events they’re advertising.

Xanadu78 · 02/05/2026 23:54

It’s the height of laziness and puts me off attending an event.

Well done 🫶

In Charing Cross Hospital the pictures on the walls in the wards, side rooms and corridors are AI. I looked up the company which produces them and asked who the artists were - no answer. The pictures are in clinics, waiting rooms - a nice little earner.

FrLarryDuff · 03/05/2026 07:41

I’ve noticed our village committee now uses AI for their promotional stuff. I have to say, it’s a marked improvement in their case.

Tvtimes · 03/05/2026 07:45

I hate AI posters
I hate AI videos
I hate AI posts on social media.

basically I hate AI and I dread what the next 5 years will bring.

But, a small group like a PTA can get a fun colourful poster created for free. I can completely understand them doing that. Companies etc can sod off with it but a small group of volunteers can be excused.

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 03/05/2026 07:51

Not everyone has the time or the inclination to create their own posters though. I don't need to make posters for anything anyway, but I might well use ChatGPT if I did because it would be so much quicker and easier. And yes, they might look a bit crap and obviously AI, but not every poster needs to be professional quality and if it does the job that it needs to do, that's enough.

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 03/05/2026 07:53

Any business that uses these (lots of our local pubs have started it) instantly turns me off. They’re such bad taste and cheap looking. Has AI not heard of minimalism?
