And if so, what were your symptoms? Thanks

Interesting. I am just recovering from what I thought was a common cold but I did have some weird symptoms - really sore throat for around 24 hours and also this strange stabbing/burning pain in one spot in my lower back.

My mum had really bad sudden neck and shoulder pain last week, then bronchitis symptoms which turned out to be Gerd. Apparently. Lots of strange viruses around. Covid or not.

I don’t think so. But felt a bit funny past few days and nausea when out. Got a test somewhere but do we test now?

I used some old tests we had kept but they were out of date. The new variants didn’t necessarily show up. Boots sell tests but at £2.50 a time you wouldn’t bother just for the sake of it.

In my case my gp surgery sent me off to the pharmacist under the Pharmacy First scheme. I’ve potentially taken the virus into a crowded shop and stood in a queue with sick people collecting prescriptions. I did wear a mask and kept my distance but nobody told me to. So a positive test, if I get one, will remind the surgery to consider Covid as a possibility.

I wouldn't feel guilty about this; part of Living with it is that everyone gets reinfected regularly.

I get antivirals so I test. I think youngest has it.

May send dh to pharmacy to get a test. I’m currently not allowed to drive for medical reasons, otherwise I’d have already bought one for them.

I’d get a test so that if they are positive and I become ill, I’ll know more likely that and I can deal with ir a day or more quickly. Also I don’t pay for tests as immunocompromised.

I have just tested positive !

No, I haven't had it recently. As soon as I read the title OP, I'd knew the warriors would come out saying 'No one tests anymore, why test etc etc'.

I don't have children, so it's thankfully rare for DH and I to get ill. I bought a packet of covid tests end last year and when I did feel ill in January, I tested. I can afford the tests, I'd still avoid people if I was ill with another bug and its not harming anyone by knowing its covid or not. Sorry, I realise I didn't answer your question.

True, but if I knew I was carrying a highly infectious virus I’d think twice about exposing others, particularly elderly and already unwell people in a pharmacy queue.

I've only tested as I do visits to older people as part of my work so can't put them at risk.

I had the exact same thing in my lower back yesterday along with the usual symptoms, cough, fatigue etc. I'm sure its covid but you can't easily get hold of tests these days.
