Hello,
I have a year 11 son who will have a long summer once he has done his looming GCSEs. Everyone including his twin sister seems to be making plans for the "best summer ever" but I suspect my son is not included in any plans. He was diagnosed autistic a year ago and moved schools in Year 9. He always had a handful of good friends before this current school and seems to have sort of the same now but is so rarely included in social things outside school. He says he only has a little bit of FOMO and so I suspect part of this may be me feeling the exclusion more than him but I imagine he will feel it come the summer, as he has done in previous ones. He has plenty of people to game online with. Any advice as to how to help a young person find his tribe when he is quite newly diagnosed and not up for going to the in person neurodiverse/autistic/disability events that are on locally. I imagine I am not alone in this dilemma but sure feel it sometimes! TIA for any thoughts.
