Hi I sold a bundle on Vinted (2 lovely Next dresses) buyer has reported an issue as damaged in transit. They have uploaded a photo of the outer packaging being ripped. No damage to the items inside. They are claiming one of the jackets 'smell funny'. From the photo you can clearly see the items inside are wrapped again.

I have offered a return which I will pay for rather than losing all of the money. There is no button to request a return (only option is to full refund).

I spoke to Vinted and they advised me to send my address to the buyer and state that I will cover the return coat. I have done this. The buyer is not responding as I don't think they want to return the items (great buy).

Has anyone had this? I've sold over 400 items and this is my first big issue.

I have had some issues with vinted parcels I have received recently. 2 separate parcels were just posted out in thin carrier bags! Of course, they arrived split, but if the clothes inside were OK I accepted them and just noted the poor packaging in my feedback. Quite a lot of things have arrived smelling strongly of Febreze which, I assume, is to cover up other smells. And - only 1 item out of about 6 has arrived ironed! Most of them are very creased.

So - if your packaging was good, the jacket hadn't been febrezed, and they were as described, I wouldnt have had a problem accepting them. If they werent, then I would.

Hi yes I do the exact same with damaged packaging. They were internally wrapped again. So definitely not damaged. I don't use febreeze everything is washed fresh and ironed before sending. However my question was about the return situation. I've never come across this? I wondered if anyone had had a positive outcome. Even if one of the items had been damaged I would still want to pay for a return to get the other back as they were not cheap items.

Just to be clear I have offered a full refund to the buyer once returned however they don't seem to want to return them so it's left in limbo.
