Are there any doctors here who know about livers?

I was in ED recently after an accident, and had a CT scan. Today, a consultant rang me to tell me that after reviewing the CT they had found a very small ‘shadow’ on my liver. They said they were fairly confident it was a benign cyst or hemangioma, but said I should have an ultrasound to be sure. I had also had LFT as part of trauma bloods which were normal.

I am terrified. I have a degree of secret health anxiety and I am just terrified. I recently had breast changes investigated (turned out to be lumpy tissue) and I feel like something is always just shadowing over me heightening my anxiety.

I’ve had no pain or other symptoms. With normal LFT, how worried would you be about this?

Thank you

I’ll just give the odd bump now and then 🙂

It will be a benign hemangioma - very very common to be an incidental find when checking for something else. Of course it needs to be investigated but that’ll be what it is. I had some found about 25 yrs ago and I need to let them know if I have any kind of scan as otherwise they flag them all over again!

Thank you that is reassuring 🙂
