What are we buying our 8 year old boys?

DS turns 8 in a few weeks and I’m at a loss as to what to get him. Not into Lego sets but does like to build with just the bricks. He has a switch but doesn’t play Roblox. He’s into science and loves his YOTO player.

It was my ds 8 birthday last week. His favourite present by far was rollerblades! We also have been enjoying the grimwood books someone gave him and he got a few new board games - spots and Jumanji.

Gravitrax? 3D puzzle? A National Geographic Science Magic kit was a big hit with one of mine at around that age. Some packs of random, interestingly shaped Lego bricks and plates (off aliexpress or similar) much, much cheaper way of buying Lego than the sets anyway.
