If you're a parkrunner, would this attract or repel you?

I used to be very regular at the same parkrun. For various reasons I've been doing more.tourism lately and haven't been "home" for a while.

There's a regular there who's a bit of a character and seems to have become the videographer.

They now have a sign at a certain point that says "dance for the video" and people do their funny moves as they run past.

It makes an entertaining video, but I would hate to be involved and running past and doing nothing, being "boring" would also make me very uncomfortable.

So I won't be going back until it stops, which is a shame.

Will that be impacting others or would most enjoy it?

id just run past and ignore.

I hate the photography at parkrun. I am sweaty, out of breath and pre-shower; why would I want the moment captured? Why do I want other people to see that? A videographer might send me over the edge!

A post did pop up on my FB feed from an event (forget which parkrun it was) complaining a parkrunner made rude hand gestures to their volunteer photographer and threatened to get him banned. I suspect it was someone who really didn't want to be in the photos but something to bear in mind before giving anyone the finger!

Is this Basildon by any chance?!
not my every week Parkrun but I do go there sometimes.
in answer to your question I know what you mean as I also wouldn’t really feel comfortable enough to dance for the video but im sure you wouldn’t be the only one running past normally :)

Same here, it wouldn't bother me that they were asking people to perform - I just wouldn't.

It's young woman who apparently suffers with extreme anxiety and this helps her enormously...

Helps her how?! You don’t have to be a performing seal because some random finds it useful!
She might find doing the run helps her calm down a lot better than filming others doing it…
