I'm just up & drinking my first cuppa, in the conservatory, with dd1, after a nice lie in with boy cat. I'm not expecting to see dd2 for a while. Dd1's off to work again shortly so I'll shift then to put a load in the washer and grab my tablets.

Today's plan is to actually remove the wall sticker from the kitchen, clean the walls, and fill/sand the holes so that I can start painting tomorrow. I want to sort the peg dolls I didn't get to yesterday, as well, and sort of decide which days to spend time on them.

Dd2 will most likely spend time on revision, and watching The Rookie.

We're having gammon for tea, maybe with cauliflower cheese, followed by something sweet but not sure what yet 🤔.

After that, I'll have my usual Self-Care-Sunday shower and then settle down with my book or crochet before an earlyish night 💤.

What about all of you? 🙂

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone. Been awake since around 6, despite the clock change, although I did fall asleep on the settee for a bit. Just done a bit of washing up & contemplating a 2nd cuppa. I need a shower/hairwash but need to wait until my folks are up & about in case DM goes wandering. DF’s hearing is terrible so if he’s still asleep, he wouldn’t realise she’d got out of bed. I could do with popping into town as I need something from Boots & I have a flowerpot to return to Asda as it turned out to be too big for the plant. DH & possibly DD17 are coming over this afternoon. DH is going to iron name labels onto a few of DM’s clothes in readiness for her moving into a home. I bought a load of stuff from the charity shop yesterday & will put it all on Vinted except a pair of Per Una stretchy jeans which fit me really well. Not bad for a fiver. Quite fancy a simple tea, like beans on toast (bought a lovely seeded sourdough loaf). Probably catch up with BGT then watch The Other Bennet Sister. Or is it Benett?! Never looks right! And I cannot get over how similar the actress who plays Mary is to Jude Riordan who plays Sam in Corrie! It’s uncanny! They even have the same facial expressions. Have a great day all 🙂

MarmaladeSandwich7 · 29/03/2026 10:28

Bennet - googled it!

JacknDiane · 29/03/2026 10:34

Morning. We are in wet and windy Scotland. The wind is blowing a gale .

Readytoescape · 29/03/2026 10:35

Morning all. I have been up way before everyone else. I enjoy the peaceful mornings and no rushing at weekends. I have showered and sorted washing. Granola breakfast eaten. Bought some new make up in the week I have tried to update myself it seems a good buy so far as I’ve tested it out today. I have some work to do now before running dc to places this afternoon. Might do roast chicken for dinner.

DilemmaDelilah · 29/03/2026 10:39

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone. You're late today! I'm guessing that is something to do with the clocks going forward.

I'm about to have a shower, I was just waiting for you first. Breakfast has been had. Once I finish my shower I will put a wash on.

Lunch will be a ham salad, our evening meal (we call it supper but I know other people call it dinner or tea, hence my not usually naming it) will be chicken and vegetable stir fry. I will have to get everything prepared early because I am going to the cathedral with local daughter this afternoon, to see chorister grandson sing in Bach's 'St John's Passion' and I just want to be able to fling everything in the wok when I get home, then it is all done in less than 15 minutes.

I'm very much looking forward to the concert, baroque music is something I love and it is always nice to spend time with my daughter and to hear my grandson sing. We will be sitting on the stone benches (they do have cushions) in the side aisle, as that is the best place to see him from. Mr Dilemma will be acting as our chauffeur today, but baroque music isn't really his cup of tea (he prefers 80's music - which I can't stand!) so he will go home in between taking us there and picking us up. As you might guess we don't live that far from the cathedral. I expect he will spend the time digitizing some of his ENORMOUS record collection. He is giving his daughter some of his LPs as part of her birthday present, together with a record player. Apparently she wants the records - rather her than me!!!!! Our under-stairs cupboard is FULL of his records so he's not going to miss a dozen of them. We started to compile a list of them 9 years ago, but only got to about 50 before I lost the will to live. I'm the one who inputs the data - he's the one who tells me what data to input.

Nothing else planned for today - apart from looking at my beautiful vegetable seedlings and wishing the weather would warm up enough to plant some of them out. We had a crop protection cage for our raised beds arrive yesterday, so I'm hoping Mr Dilemma will put that up. We have deer, foxes and badgers as regular visitors, as well as squirrels, so we need something to deter them from eating our veggies! Our apples seem to have been safe from them last year, but our cherries and the plums from one of our trees always go before we get to them. The other plum tree seems to be safe, for some reason!

Have a lovely day everyone, or the best one possible.

begonefoulclutter · 29/03/2026 11:02

DH was up very early to drop someone off at the station; made all the more irksome by the clocks going forward. 😂

I went to a car boot sale this morning. A good two thirds of the stalls were traders of one sort or another, and I didn't buy anything. I usually like a boot sale, but today I was trudging round in the freezing breeze with the words 'acres of crap' at the forefront of my mind, so I came home.

Been back home an hour and a half, and I still haven't warmed up yet! Another cup of coffee beckons.

Tangerinesattack · 29/03/2026 11:05

Morning all.

Planning a lazy low-key day today so we can muster the energy to get through the next week - last week before the holidays. It's going to be a busy one as DH is on call then working away on the Isle of Mull (if he gets there with the ferries and the weather). DS has various Easter events. And as this is the last week before our exams start, it's a very busy and intense week supporting my pupils.

So today will be some old school video games, crafts, a few chores, board games, lego etc. Might go to the beach later on, if the weather clears, as I need some pebbles and sea glass for a project. DS will probably do an online trumpet tutorial at some point. So loud.

Dinner is going to be chicken cooked in milk with lemon and herbs. Sounds odd but I've had pork cooked in the same way and it was lovely. Then I'm going to a gig to see a trio of folk singers. I'm going on my own which I've never done before. It feels very brave and independent 😂.

Have a lovely day everyone.

gingercat02 · 29/03/2026 11:13

I'm very hungover. Lunch turned into a long afternoon and night. Didn't get home until 11pm.
Today is a write off!

spingforward76 · 29/03/2026 11:14

Morning all. Just got in, me and dp stayed in a hotel last night and had a meal out. Been awake since 2:30am. Went to the car wash on the way home as we'd parked under a tree and there was an astronomical amount of bird poo over the car- still can't get it all off! Booked table tennis for ds21 for this afternoon, for when he comes home from his girlfriend's at lunch time, just waiting to hear what time I need to pick him up from the train station. I'm currently MNing whilst dp watches the F1. Can't warm up though! Heating is on full and I'm under a heated blanket.

NorthernDramaLlama · 29/03/2026 11:15

Morning All!
I had planned to spend some much needed time in the garden but Mother Nature had other plans - even the Doggo didn’t linger too long and she usually enjoys a good 10 minute snooter about.
So, instead I am deep cleaning the bathroom. I used DP’s toothbrush to clean the grouting because I’m petty and he’s in a huff. Made me feel instantly better! (Don’t worry, I have binned it and replaced with a new one).
After lunch I am going to catch up on laundry and The Other Bennet Girl.
Happy Sunday!

Tiddlywinks63 · 29/03/2026 11:15

Good morning, it’s chilly, dull and thoroughly un-springlike here today. I walked tiddler early, came back and hung out the washing, second load is on. Cold pork, sauté potatoes, salad and peas for dinner, cba to do anything much. My appetite isn’t great at the moment and I’m not looking forward to my hospital appointment on Tuesday which I know won’t be good news 🤷🏼‍♀️🙄
I’ve lit the wood burner and will make another coffee in a mo’, I started another virus shawl yesterday so will probably get on with it. I’m not sure if I should use a smaller crochet hook, will have a ponder….
I hope you all have a lovely day, I’m envying @DilemmaDelilah listening to ‘St Johns Passion’, I love chorale music too.

Rainbow1235 · 29/03/2026 11:18

good morning lucysmam and to u all . Wet and windy here in south wales and I’ve got a cough and sore throat . Hate not feeling well . Got them all down for dinner then me and daughter no 1 are looking after daughter no 2 children as she’s not well and has to have a procedure tomorrow and got to take medicine today so she won’t feel like racing round after a 3 and 1 year old . We hoping to take them out later as there’s a lovely park with a river by my daughters and hopefully we can wear them out . Have a great and safe day all 🫶

thebeautifulsky · 29/03/2026 11:33

Good morning Lucysman and all.

A very wet and windy morning here in the SW so I've talked myself out of my daily walk up the hills. I did a 5 mile walk yesterday then another 2 miles later in the day with the DC and DGC so don't feel too guilty. On my 2nd coffee of the day, browsing MN.

Waiting for DH to get ready then we're off to get a new toaster, ours toasted its last slice this morning before popping and tripping out the electricity. Will get a few bits from the Co-op that didn't come with my weekly shop then will make a roast of some sort. It's just me and DH for lunch today as the family came over yesterday for a walk and lunch. DH has found a couple of old films to watch later.

We've got a busy next week so making the most of a chilled Sunday.

Kim82 · 29/03/2026 11:40

Good morning everyone. I’ve not managed to read/post on one of these threads for weeks as we’ve had so much going on lately, I’m absolutely exhausted! Today is the first day for a good while that I have absolutely no plans.

We had a lovely day yesterday, dd21 came home for the first time since Christmas and brought her lovely new boyfriend with her, he seems so sweet. All 4 dc were here yesterday so I cooked a huge roast and just enjoyed seeing them all together.

Today I had a nice lie in til 9am and have had a peaceful morning, I’m not dressed yet and he just spend a few hours sitting on the sofa drinking tea. I plan on just pottering around the house today, I might read or watch a film this afternoon then dd18 is back off to her uni accommodation for the week - she’s been home for 2 weeks which has been lovey but she wants to go and spend some time with her uni friends over the Easter break which will be nice for her. We’re having an easy tea of burgers and then I’m looking forward to an early night before work again tomorrow. I am so ready for the four day weekend next weekend, I need the break!

Cheersmedears123 · 29/03/2026 11:59

Morning! I’ve just finished pottering around the house and got school uniforms in the machine ready for a new week. Time for coffee now! I hate the clocks going forward and losing an hour of my Sunday. I was keen to get chores done asap rather than lounging too much!

Earlier I took a walk to the shop to pick up some supplies for DS craft project for school, and then we managed to get a bit of that done. I think I enjoyed it more than DS! DH meanwhile made us a huge fry up for breakfast. Everyone is chilling now but I’ll get DS out the house for a big stomp shortly. DH has some Mexican plans for dinner so I’m looking forward to that later, and then we’ll chill in front of the TV for the evening.

garlictwist · 29/03/2026 11:59

I've just been for a walk in the woods with a friend. It's starting to rain now so timed it well. My hip is playing up so I'm sad about that. Going out again in a few hours to watch the Faraway Tree at the cinema with my sister and nieces.

Rowgtfc72 · 29/03/2026 12:12

Afternoon!
Up early to watch the F1, couldn't decide if dh had changed the bedroom clock or not so figured if I got up when it said 5am I would either be on time or an hour early and able to watch the grid walk.
Done 2 miles with the sausage dog and had fake maccies for breakfast. Contemplating dinner and thinking about making Flapjack for dh and dds pack up.

Gettingbysomehow · 29/03/2026 12:18

Im in bed with my cats bingeing netflix but I have to get up after lunch.
I have to finish organising my facelift trip to Lithuania, book the hotel, find travel insurance, print off my boarding pass and book the cattery for my girls.
Ive just realused it isnt long until May when I go.

Thislittlekitten · 29/03/2026 12:20

Afternoon everyone

Late today and didn’t make yesterday. It has been a whirlwind of dropping children off at events and picking up.

Today had a much needed lie in. I’m an absolutely exhausted just now. Work and children and studying catching up on me.

Today I am concentrating on essay writing and uniforming sorting.

DS does need picking up much later. DH is making tea tonight so not sure what it will entail I’ll be grateful anyway.

Hoping for an early night.

Hedjwitch · 29/03/2026 12:21

Travelling to Scotland after visiting my sister in London. The indulgence of first-class and a new book. Heaven

clary · 29/03/2026 12:28

Afternoon all. Lots of people's plans sound amazing especially @lucysmam .

I got up later than intended but I had a very late night last night (out and back at midnight – which was really 1am). Been for a swim, got to do a couple of tasks and then popping to a pottery sale with DH and maybe a coffee after.

Evening of tutor-related tasks and the ironing :) in front of an ER rerun oooooh

Artem · 29/03/2026 12:31

In Jl having a glass of prosecco, remembering my late sister.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 29/03/2026 12:35

Good afternoon lucysmam and others. I've been to Stirling for breakfast with my ds. We were in a new Turkish restaurant and it was lovely, but very quiet. Ds gave me some news which I'm mulling over. The rest of the day will be spent cooking and pottering. Have a good day

Peridot1 · 29/03/2026 12:36

Good afternoon @lucysmam and everyone.

Been up ages. Went out for a nice walk with my neighbour and her dog to somewhere I hadn’t been before. Came back and had boiled eggs and toast for breakfast.

No major plans today. Possibly something in the garden. Depends on the weather. If not just a chill day. Maybe do a menu plan of some new dishes for the week. A bit bored of our usual stuff. Might have a soak in the bath for a bit. With my book and a cheeky g&t. Although more likely a cup of tea.

Roast chicken for dinner. With carrots, peas and roast potatoes. I might make some stuffing.

We started watching The Pitt last night so might watch a bit more of it. Hopefully DH will go to bed early and I can then watch something else. I’ve a few things I like that he doesn’t.

Giggorata · 29/03/2026 13:08

Good day lucysmam and all,
It's the sort of spring day that makes me want to stay in, wet, windy and cold.
Plus I was out last night at a Turkish restaurant with friends, which ended up being rather late. I am still so stuffed, I don’t know when I shall eat again, so of course, DH has chosen to defrost a joint of beef as big as his head for tonight's dinner. I really think I will do the Mumsnet thing of making it last all week.

This week is when I get my MRI results, which hopefully will eliminate some of the more sinister causes of my hearing loss and pulsatile tinnitus. I'm putting it down to rock concerts…

I'm trying to decide whether to get rid of my huge oak pedestal desk, now I'm no longer working. It takes up a lot of room but is a great piece.. this is on the back of buying some new (to me) chesterfield sofas for the study room, just the same as the old ones, but in better nick. They are quite bulky, but comfortable.
The old big one is going to friends or Freecycle. DH spent most of yesterday chopping up the smaller more ancient one, which had gone too far to pass on. Horsehair and wood shavings everywhere, very annoying. But I'm enjoying the extra space in the room.

We're trying to avoid the usual clock chaos by actually communicating when we alter a clock! The iPad and phone have proved really helpful during clock change, as at least we now know what the time should be…
Happy Sunday to all.
