What did you do today?

DP and I went to a castle in our home city. We’ve lived here for a long time, but never actually been inside the castle until today! We had a lovely time and spent hours there.

Then I sent my DM an Easter card, since I won’t be seeing her over Easter this year. After that we went home and had our dinner.

I’m recovering from a medical procedure and been in a huge amount of pain so my day has been a cycle of taking painkillers, hugging one of those microwaveable toy things that heat up (mine is a pink unicorn called Eunike Lavender), eating (small amounts are all I can handle but when I’m hungry the pain is even worse) and watching TV (mostly sports: F1 qualifying, football results and the Scotland game) while also playing games on my phone, scrolling MN or playing Animal Crossing on the Switch.

This afternoon I played a couple of short darts practice games (we have a whole set up at home as I’m in a team and it’s a bit cheaper to practice at home instead of always going to the pub), I then managed to cook some cauliflower cheese for my dinner which was lovely and I’m now chilling on the sofa with a very small glass of wine while watching an old episode of Taskmaster.

Had a lie in, unpacked from week in Scotland, fell out with DH, made up with DH, got a Starbucks, took dog for walk with friend and her dog, rinsed dog with hosepipe who seemed to have brought ALL the mud home with him, blow dried reluctant dog, sat on sofa under blanket with dog, set up new Garmin when it arrived, ate tea, back on sofa

Woke at 6am and couldn’t get back to sleep. Did a countryside walk with the dog, freezing cold and crazy wind! Did some Pilates at home. Waited most of the day for adult ds to ring as he had promised , he didn’t, can’t ring him (don’t ask!). Went out for a curry with dh.

Eventually hauled my arse to the gym, picked up dd to drop her to pick up her car, had lunch, did 2 loads of washing, lounged about, went to the next down with dh to get some stuff for dinner and then I went a bit crazy in the sweaty Betty sale (actually dh paid so technically I didn’t go crazy at all!), got caught in the hail storm, came home and played some card games with ds. Quite a typical chilled day with no real fixed plans. A mix of productive, relaxing and fun.

Played horses and pretended to camp with my grandchildren for most of the day.

I’m abroad visiting my sisters in the USA (so early evening here). My profoundly autistic niece loves bowling so today we went and then had ice cream sundaes afterwards (niece can’t eat that kind of food so had some chips and fruit from home). Now back I’m scrolling, DD is cutting up veg for dinner, DS has gone out in search of tobacco and may go to a nightclub tonight. One sister is looking after her DD the other is napping having been to one of the ‘No Kings’ (anti Trump) protests. Tomorrow the circus!

Took DD to netball and watched the match. Stopped to watch DS play hockey on the way back through. Took them both home. Had laser hair removal appointment. Did the food shopping and then popped into town and bought DS some new clothes. Came back and made dinner (chicken Caesar salad) which we subsequently ate. Played a game of basketball outside with the kids and then we all went to see the Magic Faraway Tree at the cinema which was very wholesome. Dropped DD off at a friend's on the way back home.

Got up, made kids breakfast

Hung around the house, went ice skating

Went home, booked lunch

Played outside, watched a film. Did a jigsaw. Made dinner. Did laundry. Went for a walk.

Put kids to bed. Watched TV/doom scrolling MN now

Yesterday was shit. Doggo woke me up at 7am on the dot as always for his breakfast then we went back to bed and he went back to sleep but I couldn’t so I doom scrolled. Took DS to town to go to his girlfriends and went to Lidl.
DH is super tired and stressed from work and didn’t wake up til 12 😵. DH went out to run some errands with a friend and I walked the dog but it was freezing cold, windy and sort of sleeting.
I went on the cross trainer while the dog napped then did some colouring.
I made tea for me, DH and the dog then picked DS up at half 7 and scrolled while DH and DS watched MotoGP.

Today looks much the same except I need to take DS to work for half 8. I’ve been awake since half 6 which is really half 5 of course 😭😭.

Yesterday I did morning PT session, swim, baked a cake, made a delicious meal, helped my daughter tune her guitar (took us both forever), had an argument with my other daughter, made up and played ps5 together. Today I’ve run a 5k and am off to a tattoo convention for a chunky forearm piece 😍

Dh and I were on our second day of a two day break in Yorkshire. We were quite tired so we chilled in the morning, then went to some waterfalls and on to Skipton Castle, which was very pleasant. We stopped in Sheffield to look at the winter garden on the way home and arrived back at about 8.30, via Tesco. I cooked a late tea and chilled until my kids turned up - both are at uni, ds had come home the night before, but was at Tesco on a 13.5 hour shift, so he came in at about 11 and chatted/wolfed down the food I'd made. At about 10.30, dd also texted to say she'd decided to come back from uni that night, but not to wait up! I was still chatting to ds though when she arrived, with her rabbits in tow, so it ended up being a late night for me. Not as late as ds and dd though, who stayed up til 6am talking!

Cooked/got house ready for friends over in eve
