I’m off to see the Stranger Things play at The Phoenix Theatre on Charing Cross Road with my 14 year old son in May. Can any of you lovely lot recommend anywhere for lunch or dinner? Always interested in independents if possible. Will be travelling in from Waterloo so South Bank also an option I think 😃 Thank you in advance 😊

Is your teen a hollow legged meat eater?
If so, I'd recommend Blacklock (the 'All In') option.

What sort of things do you like? There's so many options, narrowing it down to cuisine preference or budget would help.

The play though? It's amazing! I'd never watched the show so knew nothing about it. It was on one of our many trips to see something else the night before - staying over cos it's a long way to get home - my DD doesn't like wasting anytime in London as it's far and expensive and so we always end up going to about twenty museums and six shows every time we stay over (I may or may not be exaggerating) and this was one we could tickets for at late notice.
Wow, really superb, really loved it. Won't give spoilers...

I went with a youngster from my family and he really enjoyed Flat Iron in Covent Garden. He loves steak and chips followed by ice-cream so it was an ideal choice for him!

@Chewbecca@NigellaDelia@ZookeeperSE thank you so much for your responses and apologies for the lack of info! 🤣

So price wise I’d say up to mid range rather than super expensive. Am interested in all cuisines but we particularly love Italian 😊

We saw this in the summer, we loved it! We ate at Il Cucciolo Restaurant which is just around the corner on Old Compton Street.

For mid-range Italian, you could try Giotto on New Oxford St - about 5-6 mins walk from the Phoenix Theatre. Independent, family owned place; I confess I haven't been there in a while now, but it used to be decent with really good tiramisu to finish. (The play is an amazing theatrical experience, btw!)

If you like steak, there’s a restaurant around the corner called flat iron. Amazing steak!! But book beforehand though.

the stranger things play I warn you, will likely ruin any play you see in the future, as the special effects are bloody amazing!! In the interval, the whole audience wherever you went (to the bar, line for the loo etc) were all talking about it.
