Was wondering what mn comments made you stop in your tracks?

I’ve read (paraphrased btw!) these and they made me really feel like someone out there was going through the same stuff or just really helped:

why would I run around getting stuff done the night before when chances are the kids will have me running around in the morning too- I’d rather have a very chaotic morning than waste all my free time

always put on your suncream first/ be dressed and ready before you try to get everyone else ready the way the air hostess tells you to put your mask on first

A conversation where a number of people said they regularly change job because they’re average at their job and want to get out before anything makes them have to go first

people saying they’d rather retire early and manage but be happy than continue working, have lots of money and be miserable

people say ‘welcome to real life’ or ‘that’s not real life!’ Who says real life has to be shit!

People are there to see you not your house

Anyone else got some?

“Don’t set yourself on fire to keep someone else warm.”

Advice I definitely needed at the time.

Not necessarily originating on MN but:

"You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into" - might not always be true but it helps me remember that not everyone thinks as I do!

"No good deed goes unpunished" when people are unappreciative of your help (things like volunteering to run a football club etc).
