Are you talking food wise or in general? I’ve been really impressed by their clothing offerings recently, and I am also usually tempted by their make-your-own pizza

whatwasthatnoise · 27/03/2026 21:12

DS prefers Asda cheerios over Nestle cheerios. Also the Adsa superior salami/meat feast pizza is one of his favourites. From the fridge section, not freezer.

I quite like buying greetings cards from there, often 3 cards for £3 within a decent selection.

I usually shop Morrison's, only visit Asda once month.

If I'm honest I've never really got on with Asda. They are ok, nothing special.

WilfredsPies · 27/03/2026 21:21

Their pots of Leek & Potato soup are nicer than any others I’ve tasted. Their deli pizzas are delicious. I’ve never been a huge fan of their fruit and veg selection but their bakery isn’t bad and they have some really nice cream cakes. Easter eggs are on offer at the moment, too.

And they do some really nice bits in their homeware section. Bedding is cheap with some nice designs, feels a bit scratchy at first but comes up nice and soft after a few washes. Kids clothes are good. Adults clothes are pretty good, for that matter. Lots of garden stuff, some of it nice, some of it a bit twee. They have some pretty good random offers on, depending on the size of the store.

To me food is food so it doesn't matter which supermarket it comes from.
For non food in Asda I really like the George clothes and their household things like fleece blankets/bedding.
Sometimes there's good toy bargains and nice seasonal merchandise (currently mostly Easter stuff).

Bristolandlazy · 27/03/2026 21:31

I find Asda stressful, their food isn't the best.. Their home and bras can be quite good. You aren't really missing out.

Easterbunnyishotandcross · 27/03/2026 21:32

Triple chocolate hot cross buns..

Middlemarch123 · 27/03/2026 21:52

Asda bottles of cranberry juice is lovely. Better than Ocean Spay, three big bottles for six quid. Love their candles too.

Geiirksns · 27/03/2026 22:21

Their light hot chocolate is surprisingly good

Endofyear · 27/03/2026 22:25

Socks, undies, pj's, kitchenware, ours has a world food aisle that is great for stocking up on spices and snacks.

Asda range of deli stuff like olives, sundried tomatoes and baby mozzarella, pickles, salami and mini empanadas, feta and spinach parcels, chicken gyros parcels - I love all those picky bits!

Peony1985 · 27/03/2026 22:30

Cheap basic. range baked beans. Theirs are the best.
Also tissue paper and gift bags look more expensive than they are.
I like their baked goods too.

StationJack · 27/03/2026 22:34

Clothes - basics like knickers and socks.

onflic · 27/03/2026 22:34

Pizza for a Saturday night tea, greetings cards and a browse through the kids clothes all sounds good!

Thanks!

Basics black socks , pants and solar lights

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 27/03/2026 22:38

Clothes are surprisingly good.

Kitchen bin liners also good, they don't tear even if, like me, you cram way too much into the bin to avoid taking it out because you can't be arsed.

The Exceptional crisps, the salted ones, are the nicest crisps ever (except for Piper's).

TheHouse · 27/03/2026 22:39

Pizza 💯

The pizza from the fresh pizza counter is the best pizza, i wouldn’t ever order a pizza from a takeaway now theirs beats them all you must try, meat feast is my personal favourite

If I ever happen to be in Asda I get their basic women’s vests - the thick strapped ones. They are longer and I really can’t find any better. But I live in vests.

BlueOceanFish · 27/03/2026 22:42

Oh and also got some nice pyjamas.

Butbnot that keen on their groceries

I’ve still got a couple in really good condition that are 16 years old. I think they cost me £4 each.

Mossstitch · 27/03/2026 23:25

This week they have wine 25% off for 6 and legs of lamb half price £7 per kilo.........no I don't work for them just live very close and like a bargain😂 plants three for £5 are good too.

NessaCoaches · 27/03/2026 23:35

If they still do it, the little angels liquid talc is great in the summer, under arms, on the thighs if you’re wearing a dress without shorts.
Also again their homeware and clothing is very good value. Love their nightwear.

nochance17 · 27/03/2026 23:36

A large salmon side is on offer £9 instead of £18 this week, their own Prosecco is nice and very reasonably priced. Good for basics like T shirts, vest tops etc. Greetings cards and home section quite good. Their stuff is not bad I just struggle with the music, the bright lights and noisy kids running around in my local one.

Theunamedcat · 27/03/2026 23:36

If your gluten free the range is decent

TheAutumnCrow · 27/03/2026 23:37

I like Asda’s frozen mini corn cobs. And they sell frozen vegetable samosas that taste wonderful and haven’t got onion or garlic in them, which is quite a result if you can’t eat alliums.
