If you had an imaginary shop, what would you sell?

I saw a sign in a vacant shop premises as I drove past today. The shop was to let for £100 per week. It’s obviously very difficult times at the moment to be setting up any business. It did get me thinking though what would I sell if I had a little shop (purely in my imagination).I remember the old fashioned haberdashers shops and would love one of those. So what would you sell in your shop ?

A cheese shop. Always wanted to run one. I love cheese and know a fair bit about it. I'd also sell all the chutneys, bread, biscuits etc to go with it and have a small cafe section serving cheese platters and wine pairings.

Hadn’t seen your message when I posted. Shall we go into business? 😉

@Cerialkiller does this meet your definition of no white space?

Exactly!

Exactly!

Glad to like it! (just sold greetings cards this morning so far)

I would have a proper old-fashioned tea shop, with home made cakes and cream teas, teapots and pretty cups and saucers. 2 rooms, one child-friendly with room to park buggies and high chairs, the other for adults and older children (capable of sitting nicely and quiet conversation.. no tablets, phones etc.) only.

I would buy up old china trios (cup, saucer, plate) in rosebud patterns so there was a common theme but nothing matchy matchy.

Tiny things, miniatures and dolls house furniture.
I love a tiny thing.

Oh yes! Perhaps also with staff who could create bespoke miniature things like the Marvellous Miniatures shop that was on BBC 1 with Sara Cox.

I'd have a shop like the ones in Glastonbury in the 1990s - it would smell heavily of incense and be full of tumblestones, cheap colourful make-up, velvet/tie-dye/patchwork clothing, dreamcatchers, pewter, crystals, and many object d'art featuring dragons, wolves, the sun & moon, the green man, angels and celtic knotwork. There would be a faded noticeboard with adverts for things like 1-2-1 dowsing tuition and tarot.

There was a shop I loved as a teenager, it was an old tudor building with wonky floors and rabbit warren interior. Sold old books and persian rugs and always had a cat sleeping on the counter.
I dreamed of owning that shop!😊

Bottled water. American candy. Plasticky dolls.

Make millions out of them. Apparently.

A bookshop/stationery/gift shop with a log burner and a small cafe area.

This is such a lovely wistful thread with us all dreaming of our imaginary shops. May some of these dreams come to fruition some day and be wildly successful 🤞

Musical instruments. Lots of recorders, penny whistles, concertinas and guitars. And there would be a small space where everyone could have a folk music jam session at the back.
