We are planning on moving in about 4-5 years time. In the next year I'm hoping to replace the ropey 80s kitchen. What is a 'safe bet' in terms of colour and style that I can enjoy for a few years but will have broad appeal when we sell up?

white cabinets, granite worktops in neutral colors

White cabinets. Not too modern, not too traditional, so they appeal to a wide variety. Maybe skinny shaker rather than traditional. Do you have the budget for quartz counters? Or granite. Butcher block also looks nice and isn’t as pricey but needs some upkeep.
