Tesco returning item without receipt?

Does anyone know if Tesco will take a clothing item back without a receipt? I don’t want to exchange it as they didn’t have a bigger size so I no longer need the item. Can I return it still? I didn’t use my club card so won’t be on there (I don’t mind à gift card etc but dont want an exchange dont know if that’s possible)

I've used my card receipt before - shown it to them on my banking app. They may be able to check it against the system.

Don't Tesco get funny about the club card points? I've took something back before and coz my receipt said I collected points rhey wouldn't take the item back without the clubcard to take the points back off.
I haven't took anything back for AGES tho...

I don’t have the card to show the transaction so that’s not an option purely asking without any proof at all

Well no because you have no proof of purchase so they’ll likely offer you an exchange of the same value..

My local Tesco had a sign with a new policy saying they only exchange without a receipt (I think).

That's what you'd expect isn't it otherwise everyone could buy things, take them back and keep the clubcard points.

The only way to know OP is going to be to go and ask. Do you live too far away from a store for that?
